I just found a brand new book yesterday that I just had to tell you about. Are you a woman going through menopause? Perimenopause? Aging Depression? Middle Age?

Are you worried about looking older?

Do you often wonder what you can do to pick up your spirits and grow old gracefully?

Have you felt discouraged because you don't know what to do with your hair, makeup, clothing, and overall image?

Do you often wonder if you could EVER look truly wonderful once you get into your late 30s- and *gasp* even 60s?

This book that I found yesterday has a fabulous amount of information that you really should take a look at . It is called STAGING YOUR COMEBACL by Christopher Hopkins.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND ABOUT ME

Some of you might be wondering why I would be worth listening to about a book like this. Well, I have been into image improvement for many years now. I used to have a business where I not only did makeovers with makeup, but with hair, clothing, jewelry and total image presentation.

I managed to take a woman who was 82 years old and stood only 4'5" tall with her dowagers hump and make her look so much different that her family ignored her through an entire wedding. They thought she was much younger and had wandered into the wrong place- no one had the guts to tell her she was at the wrong place!

I have been very influencial with many people in person and also online in how to take what they think is a terrible hand when it comes to body type, facial features, hair texture and color, and even clothing style choices, and teaching them how to make the most out of who THEY were designed to be.

The problem that I have run into, however, is that most women lose the momentum once we part company and there has not been a group of instruction or a manual to help when I can not be around to help.

When I found this book, although I do not agree with EVERYTHING in this book, I am very excited to find so much accurate information in once place. Finally I can recommend something to help others!

WHAT IS STAGING YOUR COMEBACK LIKE?

This book is by a makeover artist who has done hair and makeup for many years. He is in his 40s and very concerned with image- specifically older women whom society has often left in the lurch when it comes to helping them feel their best AT THEIR AGE.

I could list his qualifications, but quite frankly, in my opinion, there are only two kinds of authors in makoevers. Those who have the gift to make people truly look their best and others who know the right terminology but just do not have that special something that put them in the expert category.

This book is a comprehensive compilation of how to analyze your entire appearance. It starts with pep talk about accepting who you are and celebrating older age.

Then it moves through how to find the inner you that you want to project. It also helps define fad vs. practicality for older women to keep you from looking silly.

After that, there is an excellent comprehensive breakdown of body type, body size, style type, lifestyle type, how to identify what YOU are, and how to develop a style personality which truly reflects that.

Hair, makeup, and how to put a new program of daily maintenance together to embrace your new look into your life.

MY COMMENTS

I have to say that although I do not agree with Chrstopher's perspective on makeup for older women (he restricts it a lot to just light neutral and dark neutral only with light lips), I have to say that the photos of total makeovers are worth the price of the whole book.

There is a ton of information that helps you to see yourself as you are and discover the potential to be a sizzling dynamic person inside AND out in ways you never dreamed possible.

I am an experienced makeover artist and even I was wide eyed at some of the makeovers that are shown in this book.

I can not highly recommend this book enough to any woman that is 35 or older and is rather apprehensive about her aging years. The work field often discriminates against age, and it is often a difficult time for women once they reach the age of 40.

This book will teach you how to revamp your image and become who you are NOW not who you WERE 20 years ago.

It is a fantastic resource to have on hand for reference.

And if you are a makeup artist who deals with older women, this book is a MUST read for you too- you will have a happy client if you can help them look their best at their age and make them feel happy and glowing.

DETAILS

This paperback book is $22.95 retail. Because this book was copyrighted 2008, it is probably a bit too new for many libraries.

I found this at Sam's Club for only $14.74. I am sure you can find it at Amazon.com too.
