St. Louis Gateway Arch - St. Louis, MO —

When you drive into St. Louis the Gateway Arch is one of the first things that you see. Even from far away it looks huge and just is an amaazing sight!
When you finally make it to your destination and you can see it a little closer you are still blown away. Parking was a little hard to find which means that you had to walk a little ways, but if you really want to see this then you will go through the trouble.Once you find parking and you walk up to the Arch it takes your breath away. You relize that it is big,but don't relize how much so until you are right upon it. You have to look straight up into the sky which makes the Arch look like it is blowing in the wind and it is going to fall on you! You won't be abe to take a picture of the whole thing just yet,you will have to go further back to achieve this.
Once you are to the door to get into the Arch then you are faced with a long line that you have to wait in. Due to security having to check each person that walks in and you have to go through a metal detactor the line moves very slowly which is kinda fustruting. Once you are finally through security and actually get in there are many things to see and do. You can go see one of the movies that are playing, go through the museum, vistit the gift shop, etc.
The first thing I tred to do was try and buy tickets to go to the top of the Arch, but due to so many people they were sold out. Some advice is to make reservations before you go! I had to buy tickets for the next day and lucky me I get to go through all of the bad stuff over again! Besides that misstep I went and saw the Louis and Clark movie which was very instering and I learneda lot of stuff! The theatre had stadium seating so you can see from where ever you are. The seats were also comfortable and how the screen was shaped it made you feel like you were actually in the movie!
The next thing that I did was go to the museum which was amazing! There are a lot of instering things in there that are not to be missed. This is not a museum to just rush through. just take you time and enjoy! The gift shops were also very nice, but I didn;t buy much of anything becuase the prices on some of the things were some what expensive.
The next day I went back and had to go through the hassles of parking and security yet again. This time I wanted to get tickets for the riverboat aslo, but due to flooding and high water that was not an option. The one new thing that I got to do was go to the top of the Arch. It took a while to get up there because there were so many people and you had to stand in endless lines. But finally we got to the trams that took you up to the top.Idid not personally like the trams since they were so small, you felt like you were in a cofin and when it started to move you felt like you were going to fall out of your seat. But to my susprise the tram was not to bumpy and jerky like I thought it was going to be. When you get to the top it is some more crunched spaces. Everybody is pushing you trying to look out the windows,so you have to be patient and when you see an opeing at a window you have to jump for it. If you are to piolte you will never get one! Once you finally make it to the window and look at the view you relize that it was all worth it. It was just amazing and you could see as far as the eye could see! This is just one of those thing that you have to experience for yourself!
