They meet a need.

Pros

nice phone selection, Free long distance, no charge roaming, good nationwide coverage

poor customer service, any new phone requires new contract

I started service with Sprint after Southwestern-Cingular- AT&T or whatever they call themselves now tried to rip me off. I have been a Sprint customer for about 8 years now and fortunately I don't have to contact them often (knocking on wood). I only seem to have a few problems when I change plans or upgrade my phone. Let's just say it is way harder for an existing customer to change phones that for a new customer to start new service. My only BIG gripe is the cost but for the capabilities I want for my phone all carriers will cost about the same or even more. I can't say I understand how Sprint or any other cell phone company can justify charging so much. My land-line and Internet combined cost a little less than my Sprint bill! I usually have pretty good service where ever I am. I even had a signal in Jamaica! The rate per minute was crazy but I had service. I have thought about switching but unfortunately Sprint is only following the industry standard. Any issue I have with them I'll still have with someone else. At least if I'm mad at sprint I can remind them of how long I've been with them. The new sprint.com site... It stinks!
