Sprint Nextel  —

Well I had sprint a few years back then I decided to come back thanks for the Instinct.  There are definite pros and cons to Sprint.  I think the biggest problem is dropped calls, this is probably because your phone is set to be able to roam.  Of course in roaming mode the phone is going to look for the strongest signal (including Verizon and Alltel).  With this set your phone may find another tower stronger so it will switch to that tower which means....dropped call.  The service can't switch between towers like that without dropping the call.  If you are in a so so area then you are probably better to go with the stronger service provider.  If Sprint is strong in your area then set your phone to Sprint only.  This will prevent some of those dropped calls.  Don't get me wrong, I'm still trying to decide if to stay with Sprint or switch while I can.

As far as customer service.... let me say EMAIL!!!! Email them your problems and be descriptive.  They are quite prompt at getting back to you and very good and being fair.  For some reason they like to offer refunds above and beyond what they should.  Not sure about that!  Let me say it again, EMAIL and you won't have to sit on the phone forever.

Personally I like the phones at AT&T better but I just can't beat the pricing with Sprint and I get a good discount through my work.

Best wishes with your phone choices.  Its harder and harder these days.

Dear lostinpatience, You are totally right about the roaming thing. If sprint is strong in your area turn roaming off! Unfortunatly it does try to find the BEST signal and it will drop a call if it decides to switch. The discount program is exceptional for people who can use it, fed ex and UPS get a 25% discount in most states and most people just dont ask for it! Dont be afraid to ask for your discount. What some people dont know about the email thing is, INSTORE CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVES HAVE THE SAME THING! So if you dont know what to do they will. I highly suggest going to a privately owned store because THEY WILL be more inclined to help you usually!
