I am a big believer in the role of vitamin D in keeping you healthy. During the winter months this is especially important because 1) germs are more abundant because people stay inside more, and 2) not as much sunlight is available to create natural levels of vitamin D. I try to give my family 35 IU of vitamin D per pound of body weight. Most gummies for children have only 250 IU of vitamin D, which is not enough. So, rather than give four gummies to my kids, I can give them one of the Spring Valley brand, which contains 1,000 IU. They are soft and easy to chew. They taste like candy so they kids eat them with no problems, and are usually the ones to remind me to give them their vitamins. And, while I don't like giving my kids a lot of sugar-laden things I believe the immune health these vitamins provide outweighs the amount of sugar in these vitamins. I would highly recommend these vitamins for children of people who do not like to take pills, especially during cold and flu season.
