It depends on the level of the sports team. Professional league sports [NBA, NFL, etc.] are expensive to attend. In addition to the price of the tickets you have to pay for food, parking and optional trinkets or programs. You can drop a good chunk of change, especially if you are taking a family.
Farm team games make a better value. They are fun, the athletes are accessible and the venues are usually more family friendly.
Collegiate sports are exciting because the players play for the love of the game. I love collegiate basketball... Go UConn! but we don't live in Connecticut and it is almost as expensive for us to attend a good UConn game as it is to attend a professional game because the tickets are bought up and resold at inflated prices. We usually go once a year because of it.
Each summer we look forward to attending the Tri-City Valley cats games. They are a farm baseball team and the level of play isn't that great but the atmosphere is the best! We try to go on nights that they have fireworks after the games. They have theme nights and give-a-ways. There is always an element of excitement there. Tickets are plentiful, inexpensive and easy to purchase at the window- no service charges. They even have one night each season when we can bring the dog!
When our kids were little we would look for the nights where we could take a family of four for a package price: four tickets, four drinks, four hot dogs, etc.
So, to answer your question [finally] I would say that I would go to your site for a schedule, game stats and rankings [if collegiate basketball], promo night info and maybe tickets.
