Jr so deserves the cup... I'm with you in this hope. 

As some have read from my scribbles, even my little guy likes the roundy-round....I would have to say those are all my favs - minus Tony Stewart though.

I think Jimmy Johnson has the best chance to win this year, but he isn't one of my favorites. I've been following Joe Gibbs Racing for the last couple of years so my favorite drivers are in that stable, including Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and that new young phenom, Joey Logano who won't be in the chase for a couple of years I'm guessing. Whether Stuart holds my interest when he moves on waits to be seen.

As for past drivers, I go way back in NASCAR. I actually got to do a test drive in Darlington back in 1958 at the Southern 500 using one of Curtis Turner's cars. But it was Fireball Roberts that won that year and it was Junior Johnson's pit I got to watch from. Lee Petty, the first of that dynasty raced that day too.

I agree with you about Jimmie Johnson having the best chance to win. I am pulling for Dale Jr. I like Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin, but I am not a fan of Kyle Busch. That sounds exciting about doing a test drive. My friend's husband did a test drive @ Talladega a few months ago. I am not sure which driver's car he got to use. He was excited and had so much fun.

I hope Dale Jr. wins, but I think Jimmie Johnson has the best chance. We will see who wins.

I'm a huge NASCAR fan. I gotta watch all 3 series; Truck, Nationwide & Cup. My FAVORITE driver is Jeff Gordon, but I just love all of them. My top 5 are Jeff G., Dale Jr., Tony Stewart, Elliot Sadler, & Mikey Waltrip. I do have 2 drivers I can't stand though... Kenseth, Kyle B.

And Dale Earnhardt was/is the man, forever and is greatly missed. Nascar is just not the same without him.

I agree with you CountryMama about Dale Sr. It is ashame his life was taken so early. He still had many, many years left in NASCAR, IMO!

These drivers would be my top 5 favorites - Dale Jr, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart,  Jimmie Johnson, and Carl Edwards. 

I like most drivers, but one driver that gets on my nerves or gets my blood boiling is Kyle Busch. I just don't like him. Thank Goodness Tony Stewart will not be on his team next year.

I really like watching Petty and Kahne race.  Adam Petty was my favorite driver.  I am embarassed to say I haven't seen a race lately because I don't have TV at home.  I know, lame excuse, I could go to a sports bar and watch, but I would probably deck anyone who bad mouthed NASCAR or my driver.  Just kidding.

Jazzy, I also like Kasey Kahne. He is a cutie. I watched a NASCAR race on the internet one time, but it is not the same as watching it on TV. Sometimes, radio stations broadcast the race.

I had forgotten I started this topic last year. We'll know which drivers will be chasing for the 2009 Sprint Cup after Sundays race in Richmond. I'll try to remember to post the names of the drivers next week.

I have several favorites. Tony Stewart, Mark Martin and Carl Edwards. I am not a JR fan really. His dad was the best driver ever. I miss him. I DO NOT like Kyle Busch!

I have never liked Kyle Busch!!! I agree with you about Dale Sr. "Best Driver Ever."
