Worst Airline, Do not fly Spirit! They do not deserve you!

Booked my next flight with Frontier Airlines! You should too. Spirit is awful! Planned a three day trip to Vegas. Flew Spirit out of Detroit. The flight was delayed 9+ hours. Boarding should have occurred on or about 9:20 pm on June 1 with a take off of 10:02 pm. The flight took off at 6:20 am the following morning June 2. The gate agents provided very little information during the delay other than they were waiting on a pilot to come in off another flight. During the wait time, the pilot that did show up "timed out". Eventually the staff announced the flight would not leave until 5:15 am the next morning. Frustrated customers were given the choice for refund or to book on another Spirit Flight. Customers were so angry with the gate agents and Spirit for the delays, lack of communication and overall attitude that local police were brought to the gate to supervise Spirit's shenanigans. Vendors close early at Detroit Airport. For those of us that could not rebook a flight, no food vouchers were offered, no hotel vouchers offered and if you wanted to rebook a flight, only Sprit was offered (no other Airlines) forcing Spirt customers additional days of delays. When it came time fly out the following morning, a pilot was late causing a flight attendant to time out. In 9+ hours, Spirit couldn't get their stuff together even leave close to on time the next morning. Tried to resolve with customer service. No response from Spirit's CEO, and Spirit's customer service agent was useless. Do not fly this airline! They do not deserve you! During the process of dealing with customer service, I had booked a flight with Spirit in September for which I asked them to cancel and refund. Even with all the issues, they would only provide a credit for the flight and charged a $69 cancellation fee.. I advised them to donate my credit to charity. I will not fly Spirit again. I advise you to reconsider Spirit in favor of an Airline that will treat you with respect. Disgusting!

I flew from Seattle to Vegas on spirit airlines and had no problems. No, I didn't buy my seats. There were 4 of us in my party and we all sat together each way. I would maybe suggest checking in ASAP to make that possible. Yes, we paid for our check in baggage, but we do with all other airlines so no difference there. Our seats were just as comfy/or not as other flights I have taken in the past on other planes with other airlines. We had lunch inside the airport and just got bottled water with our lunch and brought that on the plane with us so the need to pay for snacks and water didn't bother me. To sum it up, just know what the facts are. Get on their website. Weigh your bags, don't bring a carry on other then a backpack or purse (that will cost you!) Put some snacks and drinks in your backpack or purse and just think about the money your saving flying with them! I will definitely be flying with them for now on.

You get what you pay for with Spirit (if that). The tickets are cheap but to say its budget isn't the half of it. You'll get where you need to go but it may take 3 layovers and hours of uncomfortable flying.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Just pick a different airline! Total scam they charge almost the same price for 2 bags as the round trip flight! I might have been able to get 1st class flight for how much I was charged.

Cheap and Simple

This airline is very simple. There is barely a tray table; however if you are looking for an inexpensive flight to get from one point to another this is the airline. It was very clean when we flew from Chicago to Las Vegas. The flight was full but it left on-time and actually arrived earlier than the scheduled time. The flight does offer food and drinks for purchase only. We brought our own water bottle and our own snacks on the plane so we did not have any trouble. The seats are slightly smaller than regular airline seats. You can only bring a personal item for free, such as a purse or backpack. They charge for any other carry on bags or any check-in bags. There is no in-flight entertainment. You do not get to choose your seats, they will choose for your automatically once you check-in. You can check-in online through their website, which will increase your chances of sitting together with those you are traveling with. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You get exactly what you pay for, which is a simple, cheaper, clean flight that will get you to where you need to be on time.

Rip Off airline

I was charged $65 for a carry on, without asking me if my carry on fits their size threshold. At the counter employee #11599 did not even put my carry on in the basket to see if it fits. She saw I have a carry on and she said $65. It did not sound right at all. When I arrived at my destination, I approached the counter asking what happened, the lady took my carry on and placed in in the size basket and it fit right in. She said "why were you charged" I said I do not know. I was given a number to call. My trip was for only 24 hours stay in Vegas for a funeral. The next day when I arrived back to Oakland CA. I approached the same employee #11599 at the counter asking why was I charged with out fitting my carry on, She said "sorry sir, we were too busy and hectic". She asked me to speak to her supervisor. at downstair departure main counters. I spoke with the supervisor, he fit my beg saw it was fitting. He said to allow him to speak to the employee in the back door inside their office. He came back saying the employee told him that I am lying and I had a different bag the day before. I told him that she at her counter just told me she was sorry and she was hectic and mistakenly charged me, and now that I am not before her she says I had a different bag? my trip was for only 24 hours attending a funeral, I only took pajamas, and tooth brush and a shirt with me. I had no reason to carry a bigger bag pay for it and come the next day and lie about it. The manager told me to email customer support to recover the charge. Which I will, and I told him if this to lie to me again, and just to brush me off I will come back to his counter. After emailing bak and forth and sending the pictures of my bag inside the carry on fit basket, they said the handle of my beg was slightly higher than the line. Which was a complete lie again. Broke My Spirit Airlines

I'd give it a zero if I could. I flew on Spirit airlines today, it is ridiculous. We were charged $130 for 2 carry-ons. As you enter the plane, the attendants don't even greet you. Way to make you feel welcome! The seats are horrible, not enough padding - you feel the metal components of the seat. The seats do not recline and have the world's thinnest armrests. The back of the seats you face are just a prison grey metal - classy. No music or even a place to plug in electronics. The tray table is half the size of what it should be. It was disgustingly dirty with crumbs and dried food stuck on it, There was trash from the previous passenger still in the stretch corded "pocket". No monitors or TVs, water and snacks are available only for sale. At one point, I was afraid they were going to charge for the use of the lavatory. During the flight, a flight attendant goes down the aisle with Spirit credit card applications. Really? The attendants generally don't even make eye contact with you. Can you blame them? I would be embarassed to be working for Spirit if I were them. As I exit the flight, again, not a word from the three flight attendants, they were too busy talking amongst themselves to notice the passengers exiting. I get the "Bare Bones" concept, but this felt like flying through the air in an empty tin can. It is truly the third world country of flying. I will let you decide for yourself. As for me, back to a real airline that acts like it wants to keep your business and where they care about their customers.
