I think Spirit will have to pay me to use them again. We flew non-stop from Detroit to Las Vegas. First they would not let me book seats online because we used "Spirit Vacations". So? But they said you could only do advance seating when using Spirit Air, not Spirit Vacations. That ticked me off since I even paid $1 more by booking hotel and air together. But I figured it was easier, than paying booking and pay two separate bills.
As a result, we were in the very last row. This plane is probably the smallest plane I've been on. Everyone would wait to use the bathroom, and their butt was right in my face since I was next to bathroom and the aisle was so small you could only stand sideways. The seats were really tiny, and so close together that you could barely fit your legs. And I'm only 5'4".
But worse - they served absolutely nothing. Not even a drink of water for 5 hours. The flight attendent did go through the cabin once, offering to sell coffee, pop, or water for $2 and up. But nothing for free. Thank goodness I had my own water.
We landed 45 minutes late and not once did a pilot or flight attendent get on the speaker to announce why we were so late. Everyone kept looking at their watches, noting that it was time to be on the ground and we hadn't even started the descent. Also, during some turbulence the pilot didn't mention that either, nor say what was causing it, if he could fly around it, etc.
And then on the turn flight my sister called Spirit to verify our flight schedule and they told her they didn't have a flight from Vegas with that flight number or arrival time. My sister wondered if we crashed or something. She knew she had the info right because I gave her copies of my schedule.
This was my first and probably last experience with Spirit.
