As a member of the $9 fare club (it's $30 a year for the membership) I get flight specials emailed to me about once a week.  I've taken advantage of the $9 flights about a half dozen times in the last year.  The $9 flights come to $32.50 once taxes are added on.  I've had a few delayed flights but how can you complain when you're flying for pennies?  You should know before you purchase that you do need to pay for every piece of checked luggage and you'll also have to pay for anything you eat or drink while on board (they accept credit cards only).  The only place I ever fly is between Myrtle Beach and Detroit to visit my family for a few days so I bring carry-ons only and buy drinks and snacks in the airport newsstands if I need them.  Spirit even has a magazine in the seat pocket with a crossword puzzle and some sudoku puzzles.  I'd never go with another airline unless I needed to fly on specific dates.  For a quick spontaneous getaway Spirit is the best!
