Spiderman 3 Movie Review Summary

"Spiderman 3 spins a web of delight." With awesome special effects, amazing action, and a twist in the plot, the third, and most likely last, in the Spiderman series will keep you involved throughout its two plus hours. As Peter Parker becomes "more self-involved with his superhero status," he takes on multiple villains, including one played by Topher Grace. Of the two superhero movies out last fall (the other being Fantasic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer), Superman 3 is the better choice, staying action packed until the very end, although a select few Viewpoints moviegoers found the ending weak.

The third installment in the Spiderman phenomenon has once again pulled its weight.  Peter is really into the whole "Spidey" experience and M.J. is still the love of his life....or is she?  We also find Peter with two opponents, Goblin Jr. and Sandman.  Peter is also faced with the "Black Spiderman",...

Bottom-Line: In the final analysis I found Spiderman 3 a slightly disappointing movie.

My daughter and I recently went to see the latest installment in the Spiderman movie franchise, and on the way out of the theater, I asked her how she like the movie.  She responded that "it was okay," and that...

Never fear, there are no spoilers contained in this review.  I wouldn't do that to you!

The Case

I'm a big fan of comic book film adaptations, and the Spiderman movies are some of my faves.  I was really excited to see the third, and probably final, installment of Peter Parker's story, and I got out to the theater as soon as I could!  I enjoyed the movie on the big screen, and I'm glad that I went, but I gotta say, I was kinda disappointed with Spiderman 3.

The Good

As with all of the Spidey films, this one carries through with that wonderful charm that we've all come to know and love.  The familiar...

Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst play in the third movie of the Spiderman series.

Plot: Once again Spiderman is fighting evil.  This time it's not only with villains but with himself when an evil entity takes over the good in Spiderman.

Some inside story: Parkers old friend Harry is still out to get him for his fathers death.  Parker finds out that someone else actually killed his father and is now out for revenge fueling the dark matter taking him over.  He's consumed by hate and rage and gives into evil and its power.  An escaped convict runs into a hazardous area and becomes a villainous sand...

We just got back from the movies a few minutes ago. We had some free tickets given to us from a friend who owns the cinema. Anyway we decided to take the grand kids and a couple neighbors. I have to admit that I am very happy the tickets were free! If I had to pay to go see Spiderman 3, then I would have been ticked!

Now don't get me wrong, the special effects were awesome, Toby still looked spectacular in his skin tight suit, especially the black one! The black crawly substance came from outer space. No one knows where, how or why. It just appeared, landing in some park field and just happened...

I loved this movie. I thought it was more intense then the previous Spiderman movies. I own all 3 but this is my favorite due to venom making an apperance. This movie is a must see to all Spiderman fans who have not seen it yet. I dont want to give too much away but I love when Venom fits Spiderman and there is also a tear jerker at the end. I was disappointed with that but I think it was a must and in the end made it even better. The story behind Sandman was also great. It is a great movie for the generation of kids who never read the comic books.

Spiderman 3 is a must see if you are a true spiderman fan. Other than that I am not sure why you would want to see this movie. There were too many characters and poor development of each one including the black-suited spiderman. I think I will only focus on three of the characters- Spidey, Sandman, and Venom.

Spidey- I have to admit I liked the development of Peter Parker as becoming more self-involved with his superhero status. As the city embraced him, he started to become more self-absorbed. However the alien symbiont development with Spidey was too rushed. The resulting Spidey was just obnoxious,...

The plot is not that complicated, so it's easy to follow and that's a plus. However, there are things that Peter/Spider-man does that made me think when i watched it, "He would never do or act like that."  And this is before he comes across the alien symbiote costume.

For example, when he shows off in Spidey-gear in front of the Bryce Howard character (i forget her name) and kisses her...

As far as the action , I have to confess that throughout all 3 of these movies the CG-animated Spiderman never really worked for me. I've always thought that the maker of the movies should have relied more...

I like the movie called Spiderman 3 because it had all the key elements to the making of a great movie. I like the fact that it had so many characters who had super powers. I love super heroes. My favorite one was the Sandman. Yet there was also the son of spidermans last enemy from spiderman 2. Now the great thing about the Sandman was that I think that spiderman would have never beat him. He had a moment of clarity, Sandman, and thats the only reason he stop fighting spiderman. Seems to me that can create a whole new spiderman 4 or 5 just to bring back the Sandman. I also enjoyed the fact that...

Spiderman 3 was widely panned by critics for losing focus of the previous two movies.  I disagree.  The main problem with Spiderman 3 was the amount of characters used for villians.  That seems to be the norm for most superhero movies though-- just adding another character.  Take the original Batman for example.  The original villian was the Joker.  The second movie was Penguin and Catwoman.  The third was Riddler, Two-Face, and Robin.  The fourth installment had Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, the big dude, and Batgirl.   Thank goodness that series ended and the Batman Begins/Dark Knight saga...

The action sequences are, for the most part, spectacular. The fight scenes live up to the standards set by the previous Spider-Man films, yet it’s when Raimi allows Maguire as Parker a few quiet moments to reflect on life that the film really comes close to matching Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 in tone. Maguire has grown into the part and Spider-Man 3, while not the best of the lot, features his best performance of the series. The same can be said of James Franco who redeems himself after a series of bad film choices by making Harry into a multi-layered character such as we haven’t seen in the...

Gotta see movie!  Action packed with a good plot.  Amazed me because the writers managed to make it different from the first 2 and it kept my interest.  I found a few details rather bizarre how they came into play but those details were well used to bring out the worst in the nasty characters. That crazy spiderdude can sure get himself in a fix but thanks to his friends he always comes back looking good.  A bit of romance, friendly rivalry and of course the bad dudes served to make this a good movie for everyone.  It was very action packed and had very few places to allow the watcher a break...

I  enjoy spiderman 3. I was going to wait to get this when the price got lower but my boyfriend was so anxious to get it. We end up getting it because we already have spiderman 1 and 2 so we decided to get spiderman 3. This movie was very very long and I did enjoy it. I was hoping to find out how far along this movie would be and when i look at the cover i realize this movie is for a better time when your NOT having a busy day or something planned on a day simply because it is more than 2 hour movie. The characters in this movie was awesome, I wanted to see if there will be spiderman 4 and i hope... review »

Reviewing Spiderman 3

This was a good movie, but it was not a great movie. I mean Spiderman 1 & 2 were great movies but this one was two much of a love story. I mean Spiderman was suppose to fight venom and were the cool black spiderman custom. Spiderman only had the black custom for a little while and he really didn't fight venom for that long! The one scene when MJ is working in that DJ place and Peter takes that Blonde girl (forgot name) and does that 5 to 10 minute stupid dancing that really mad me mad, but in all the special effects were Awesome.

I rate this movie 7 out of 10!
