So versatile with great benefits

Spectrum organic coconut oil is one of the most versatile and easy to get products out there. You can use it for cooking as well as for health and beauty. I often cook my meats and vegetables in it and I don't notice the taste of coconut. It is a great healthy alternative to other oils. What I like about this product is that it's unrefined organic coconut oil, which means there are no chemicals used in the process of making it. I use this product in my hair when I feel that it's a bit dry. I massage it in and pay a little extra time to spots I think that need it most (aka the ends). I leave it in and then shampoo my hair a couple of times. Afterwards, my hair feels healthy, looks shiny, and isn't weighed down. I also use this on my skin. It works great as a moisturizer and is a great alternative to lotion and skin creams. I spend a little extra time on dry areas and I find it helps a lot, especially great to use in the winter months.

More than just a cooking oil!

In general, there is a variety of benefits to using coconut oil, and from my experiences I found that Spectrum Unrefined Organic Coconut Oil is an excellent quality coconut oil that is better than the cheaper versions of coconut oil . It is more expensive than the traditional cooking oils, but it is worth it. Coconut Oil is more heart healthy than the traditional vegetable oils, I have been using Spectrum Coconut Oil in place of vegetable oils for my family meals. I even use this in my baking of cakes, cupcakes, and brownies and the result is very moist and delicious. In addition to consuming the oil, I have used it in my beauty routine. About two times a month I use it to deep condition my hair. I heat up about two tablespoons of the Spectrum Unrefined Organic Coconut Oil for about a minute in the micro and apply it to my hair and leave it a shower cap over night. After I rinse it out in the mornings my hair is incredibly soft and looks shiny. Sometimes I use the oil as a skin moisturizer. I do this by warming up the oil so that it become liquid and then apply a small amount into the dry patches on my skin. This oil acts as a great carrier oil so sometimes I will add some drops of essential oil before applying it to my skin for some aromatherapy treatment. I have also applied some to my cuticles to moisturize and heal them. It really is a life save in the dry winter months. It is also a great lip moisturizer. I have applied a few drops to my lips after I have exfoliated them. I also keep a little tube of homemade lip balm in my purse made of this oil, honey and beeswax, this gives my lips a great shine. Another positive is coconut oil has antimicrobial properties so I do not have to worry about it breaking out my skin. Overall, this product is very versatile and I would recommend it to anyone.

Amazing Benefits!

5

I am always looking for oils to try out on my hair, since I have dry, coarse hair. So, when I started looking into coconut oil, I marveled at what I found. First of all, there is now evidence that a consistent use of coconut oil in one's diet, can actually prevent Alzheimer's. Frankly, that was enough all by itself to to get me to try some. When I set out to pick the particular coconut oil that I would buy, I wanted to make sure that it was organic, unrefined, and non-bleached, in order to ensure that I would really get all of the benefits from it that I wanted to. Spectrum is a very reputable brand, that I already trusted with other supplements, like flax seed oil, so that was a fairly easy choice to make. I have used the coconut oil for different things. I like to make fruit and yogurt smoothies. I like to put a tablespoon of coconut oil in my smoothies. Sometimes I use it as a cooking oil, and when I shower, I often use it kind of like a hot oil treatment, that I leave on my hair for a few minutes, then rinse out. I don't know if it will prevent Alzheimer's or not, but I like knowing that I am doing something to help strengthen my mental functioning.

I use this amazing oil for more than just cooking.

I have always loved using coconut oil for cooking because of its amazing health properties. This brand of oil,in particular is very good, because it is important to use an unrefined, cold pressed organic oil to get all of the healthy benefits. I like greasing my pan to fry eggs or anything else with it, I love it over salads, in sauces, anything I could think to cook with it, I would. There is no denying the health benefits that come from using coconut oil in your diet, but I had never dreamed of how it would help my skin. The first time I had it used on my skin was during a massage, I asked afterwards what kind of oil the masseuse had used and when she said coconut oil, I kind of freaked out. I am very prone to breakouts, so the idea of oil on my skin did not thrill me. I noticed that I had no reaction afterwards, though, so started to research the benefits of it for skin purposes. The first thing I tried it on we're my legs. I have a constant outbreak of keratosis pilaris on my upper legs that is so annoying. I tried putting coconut oil on that area after my shower, and after three days, it had cleared up by about 75 percent! I was overjoyed, because nothing would help it before. Now instead of using it directly as a body lotion, as that can get sort of greasy, I like to shower, and while my skin. Is still damp, I slather it all over. After it sits a few minutes I give it a quick rinse off, but not completely. It soaks into my skin just enough to leave it soft and silky but not greasy. I have not had good luck with it on my face, it does break me out there, nor my hair, leaves it a bit too greasy. But for the rest of the body, it's wonderful.

Miracle Oil

I originally bought this oil for my hair but ended up using it for everything else. I warm it up and apply to my hair and leave it in over-night and wash out in the morning. My hair started to grow like crazy, became shinier, healthier, and helped to relieve me of my dandruff, i even stopped using the harsh dandruff shampoo that didn't even completely stop the dandruff from occurring. Then i read up on oil pulling, and began to use this as the oil, my teeth became whiter, and my dentist even noticed that it helped to reduce my inflamed gums. I also you this as my makeup remover and i now use the diy oil face wash. My acne cleared up, my skin is more hydrated, less scared from previous acne, and doesn't flake ever. And this oil has been a major factor in my weight loss process. I've been using this in place of any other oils and butter in recipes and it has helped a lot. I hope you give it a try, it is amazing.

LOVE!

I absolutely love this coconut oil! I had been reading about coconut oil and how good it is for your hair and skin. I ended up trying it on my hair. Just put a little in my hair, waited five minutes and then washed it out with shampoo. You really have to wash your hair twice just to get it all out of your hair but after you wash it twice with shampoo then conditioner it's all gone. I tried that about twice a week and my split ends that I have been having problems with for years started to disappear. Even the lady that cut my hair or trimmed my hair said that it looked really healthy and nothing really needed to be added to my daily routine. She even asked me what I was doing to get my hair looking so good and said she would have to try it. I love finding out little tid bits like this and sharing them with people. I also tried mixing some of the coconut oil with baking soda as a face wash. it worked great. You really have to be careful and take it off AS SOON AS IT STARTS TO BURN. No, this does not hurt when it burns but you will feel it like a hot rock massage on your face. Just do that a couple times a week and your skin will start becoming silky smooth.

I Prefer Unrefined

4

I have recently added coconut to our pantry and I have been so happy with the results. I usually purchase refined if it is not bleached or it doesn't include added preservatives. I find it smoother and has less coconut flavor, which I don't always want. Spectrum unrefined coconut oil, however, is more widely available, and so I have purchased it from time to time. It has a very nice, smooth texture, and it cooks well in just about any recipe. I have even fried okra in coconut oil. I replace vegetable oil with coconut oil by melting it in the microwave and then adding the egg yolk first, then the egg whites (in recipes like pancakes). This binds the proteins and keeps the eggs and oil from separating. It works beautifully in my pancake recipe. I also like to use coconut oil as a skin moisturizer because it absorbs into the skin so quickly. I use it on my toddler a lot as her skin gets flaky and dry in the winter. I slather this on, knowing it will make her skin supple again, but without a bunch of preservatives or other unnecessary ingredients.

Spectrum Unrefined Organic Coconut Oil Has MANY uses.

5

My family and I are huge fans of Spectrum Unrefined Coconut Oil. Hubby uses it to cook his eggs in to prevent them from sticking to the pan, he tells me it adds a whole new set of delicious flavor to his plate. He also uses it to shave with and it works significantly better than any shaving cream once he is done he literally feels as smooth as a baby's bottom, and if he ever nicks himself he cleans the area and uses the coconut oil to help the wound heal. I love that it is anti microbial, and anti bacterial which makes the benefits even better! I use it to make toothpaste, as a makeup remover, as a lotion for those dry winter days, it is great for chapped lips, wounds, etc...I could go on and on about all the different uses. It may cost a little up front but saves my family a lot of money in the long run for all the things we use it for. The flavor is intense compared to the refined, and because it is unrefined it has much of its nutritional content left. This is my favorite brand, Thank you Spectrum for making it so great, and thank you again for the glass containers and not plastic :D

Yummy!

This coconut oil is amazing! It tastes so good that my daughters ask for a spoonful for a snack. It makes the best raw fudge and cookies. I sometimes just eat a spoonful to keep me full until the next meal. It tastes great, is nutritious, and gives me energy, even helps with those low sugar headaches I get midafternoon so it is a good alternative to chocolate or other sugary snacks that I crave. I also rub it on my chapped hands in the winter and it soothes and helps them to heal.
