Special Kitty cat food —
When I fed my cats Special Kitty, they were always hungry. They'd eat what was in their bowls and meow for more. I talked to my vet because I thought there was something wrong. When he asked me what I was feeding them I told him Special Kitty. He said it was the equivalent to feeding them sawdust, with little to no nutrition and basically all filler. I too am on a limited budget but switched them to Maxximum Nutrition a little at a time. Now they even leave some food in their bowls and don't meow at me all the time. It is a little bit more than Special Kitty, but better for them.
