Sparkspeople.com is the best on-line weight loss community available, in my opinion. Sparkpeople.com is awesome.  Join for free and have access to an incredible amount of info on how to lose weight or live a healthy, active lifestyle.  They have an easy to use food tracker with tons of calorie and nutritional data on the foods we really eat in the portion sizes we really put on our plates.  If you can't find it, you can add it too.  You can track your daily exercise, set goals in a number of areas, set up a webpage and blog, show the world how well you're doing with your weight loss - or not!  You also can join "friends" in hundreds of different… read full review »

I am now totally addicted.  SparkPeople is one of the best weight loss sites I've ever seen!  The interface is completely intuitive; you enter your personal information, and the site immediately helps generate a diet and exercise program suited to you.  You can follow their menu plans or put in your own, using the huge library of foods and their nutritional information already available on the site.  The tracker adds up your calories, fat, and protein amounts, creating graphs and charts to help show you how you're doing and what to do next!  The fitness programs,… read full review »

I started out skeptical about whether an online weight loss program could actually be free, but I went to the website and was moved to tears to hear that there really was someone out there who invested his own money into providing a comprehensive program absolutely free. — I joined in November of 2007, after having lost 75 pounds on Weight Watchers (another program that I really enjoyed). SparkPeople is a great resource for anyone who is changing their eating lifestyle. Some of the resources are; nutrition database, exercise video clips, tips, and resources. — Each member gets to take a profile survey too see where they are for their health needs. I sat up one night feeling down and depressed back on January 07. I accidentally stumbled upon Sparkpeople and I am so glad that I did. I have lost 6 pounds in less than one month without giving it a second thought.  The web page is easy to manage and fun to follow. I'm a size 10 but I've been battling weight my whole life. I was a fat baby and a fat kid and since high school I've tried to maintain a healthier weight but it's been a lifelong struggle.   If I don't exercise and eat right, I balloon up quickly.  The problem is that we frequently eat at good restaurants on the weekends and I'm a sensualist at heart and food and drink is part of that.  I'm also getting older and my metabolism, which was never great to begin with, is slowing down even more so I have to be conscious of maintaining some kind of healthy… read full review »

sparkjpeople.com is the most wonderful weight loss site that I have come across. Mostly because it is FREE. It includes everything that the pay per month online programs and I think a lot more and it's all free. First you start an account, then you fill in your personal profile which has several questions like: present weight, goal weight, the amount of time you want to achieve goal, the level you exercise,  and such. This is an excellent website if you are serious about losing weight.  It allows you to input information on your current weight, how much you do (or don't) exercise, and your weight losss goals, and it gives you a plan to follow.  It's so simple and it's free!  It is a little time consuming to input all of the information into your food tracker but definitely worth it because it keeps you within your calorie range.  If you do it in advance, you can see where your calories are going and make modifications to your day to stay within your range.  I like it because it… read full review »
