The Verdict: Love, love, loved it til it fell apart after a week and I ended up throwing it away.

About Spanx: Higher Power is made of 87% nylon/13% Lycra spandex.  It has a cotton crotch.  The material is like thick pantyhose with a band around the top which is supposed to help it from slipping down.  There is no band around the thigh area which keeps the leg area from looking like sausages. 

My Experience:  I first saw Spanx on QVC.  One of the sales gals was talking about how no one, even if they are skinny, should be going without a shaper.  Shapers hold in bulges and bumps and hide...

Finally a chance to wear the sassy little Grecian style dress I got for Mother's Day.  I admit I avoid wearing dresses, even though I actually prefer them. Or I did until my children thought it was fun to lift them up and play hide and seek during mass.  When I purchased my dress the sales staff suggested Spanx a Higher Power to not only give me a smoother line, but to cover me a bit more should the girls be playing under my skirts again.

I bought Spanx to eliminate VPL under clingy party dresses I wear to formal events.   I followed the sizing guide, spent my $18 and went home.   When it came time to put on my new purchase, however, I was unable to - it didn't fit.   ;-(   I have yet to drive 30 minutes back to the store and exchange it.

Oprah turned me on to this, but incorrect sizing turned me off.   Buyer beware!

I purchased Spanx Higher Power after seeing it on Oprah. I am a full figured woman with some imperfections to mask. I was attending a Christmas party for my job and wanted to show them how this chick cleans up. I bought the Spanx to wear under a velvet wrap dress. It took me about 30 minutes to get it over my butt. Once I got it on, it worked wonders under the dress. However, the ride over was ridiculous! It kept rolling down in the back, and I spent the better part of the party excusing myself to the restroom to adjust it. I even left the party a little early because I had to use the bathroom,...

I starting using Spanx a couple months after I had my son.  They are the best product ever made for smoothing and holding everything in.  They make your clothes look and fit much better.  I wear a pair of Spanx everyday.  I will not leave out of my house without them on.  I would recommend them to every woman out there.  They stay in place with no problems of falling down.  I would recommend that you go one size down from what the chart on the back says to use.    They are a little costly but worth every cent.  I have only found them at Dillard's. 

I am new to the Spanx experience.  I bought my first pair today (the hide and sleek girl short).  The fit was fine, I am basically a size 5/6 so I bought a small.

I only had these on for a short period of time to try them out with the dress I was planning on wearing them with.  The shorts kept bunching/rolling up my thighs as I walked around, not exactly the slimming look I had in mind!

 I would try these again but only in a full length with attached foot as I am leary about how they would stay in place and not ride up on another part of my leg.
