Spanx should be spanked for making a bra that is ALMOST awesome.

3 star rating

a creature of comfort, liking a good fitting bra, fun loving, a believer in accentuating the positive, super body conscious, willing to try anything once
Pros

show through protection, wide elastic back is comfy, figure flattering, underwire guaranteed not to poke, no metal hooks, stretches to fit, shapes

Cons
flimsy material, getting the right fit is tough, streches out after several hours, may not support larger busts, back can ride up, straps not adjustable, expensive

Quick View: I live sexy intimates but I also love comfort. I have been looking for a good everyday bra that is comfortable, flattering, and really fits as opposed to kinda sorta almost fits. I bought the pricey Spanx Bra-llelujah Full-Coverage Front Closure Bra 216s with high hopes. I liked it but it wasn't worth the $62.00 I paid for it. It rode up and stretched after a few hours of wear.

About the Spanx Bra-llelujah Full-Coverage Front Closure Bra 216s

Spanx makes great shape wear so I figured this bra would be awesome. This style has molded cups with an extra layer for show through protection. It clasps in the front and has a very wide stretchy back band. The straps are also wide and cannot be adjusted. The claims about this bra is that is made of a hosiery like material that molds to your body and never needs adjusting.

I ordered my usual size and the cups fit fine. The underwire was, as promised, very comfortable and didn't poke at all. The material is very lightweight and like that which tights are made out of. It's not as thin as pantyhose but it has the same feel. The wide back did feel nice and did seem to adjust to my body. The straps were a bit wide for my liking but, at first, seemed just fine. I liked the way the bra blended in with my body (I bought the nude shade) and didn't show under even tight fitting tops and lightweight, sheer ones.

I really thought I had found THE daily bra I had been looking for but, after about four hours of wear, I noticed that the back started to ride up. I would yank it down and it would stay for a while then creep back up. Because I couldn't adjust the back, I just had to live with it. Then the straps started to sort of stretch. Instead of supporting my bust, they allowed my bust to pull them down and stretch them out.

This all wasn't the worst thing I ever experienced when wearing a bra but it was pretty disappointing for the steep price I paid. I wore the bra about five times and, although it kept its shape when I hand washed it air dried it, it lost its shape on me. It could be that I needed a size down around but that wouldn't have solved the stretchy strap issue. Too bad. The bra itself flattered my figure and looked very natural. But I couldn't keep it for that price and I was able to return it for a refund.

The Spanx Bra-llelujah Full-Coverage Front Closure Bra 216s comes in black, nude, and mocha and in sizes 32A to 38D. You really need to try this bra on rather than ordering it online because fit is everything. I read reviews where women LOVED this bra. I wasn't one of those women.

My Viewpoint

The Spanx Bra-llelujah Full-Coverage Front Closure Bra 216s disappointed me. I so wanted it to be the perfect solution to ill fitting and uncomfortable bras but it wasn't. It was comfortable when it didn't stretch but once it started to inch up my back and the straps started to droop, it was just a hassle. I give it 3 stars. I am not sure if a different size would have been better for me but at the steep price, I don't care to risk buying another. Do I recommend it? Honestly, I think you can find better for less money.

I vote for sports bras too. I love them and have a ton of them. They fit and move with me. I like the Bali Nearly Cup size bras (Nearly A, Nearly B, Nearly C) because I am a C which is really a C minus. I also like Victoria Secret's Body by Victoria demi bras. They don't make me look stuffed or squashed.

ahh, the quest for the perfect bra. Well, dear, we must have the perfect measurement first. I am so small and still can't find the right bra. Vanity Fairs fit pretty good but are still a little too loose in the cup for me. I have found one by Maiden Form that I really like but after I bought 3 and went back for more--they discontinued the design ;+( I think the perfect solution for me is the ability to go without one or wear a sportsbra--yeah, that's more to my liking ;+)

That really is exactly what happens. The support is out the window and you look like a comfortable braless old lady. NOT the look I am going for.

it feels great- no support and no adjustment- i look like an old lady in a tight sweater. i give it one star for comfort.

I believe there is no such thing as the perfect bra. I comfortable ones don't flatter me at all and the ones I like the look of feel like torture chambers. I am still on the hunt although I do like Body by Victoria's demi bras. They're comfortable and flattering but expensive as heck. Then again so was this.

I can never find the perfect bra! I found one that I like but I wouldn't call it an everyday bra. The search continues ...
