Space Bag Reviews

OK, this is yet another review for an "as seen on TV" product that is a total rip. I don't buy these things when I first see them on TV. I don't believe it, and then I see them in stores flying off the shelves and I think they are fine. Seriously, it's like faking a tennis ball throw with a dog. I always seem to fall for it.

I got this really "great" package off the website. It had some large, medium, and extra large and some hanging bags. The plastic is really thick. The one nugget of truth in their claims. I have some with t-shirts, some with sweaters, some with bed linens in them. None of them...

I read some other people's complaints about Space Bags and also saw rave reviews. I read online that they had some new and improved material they were using for the bags. So many stores carry it (Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Costco, Wal Mart, Linens N Things, QVC, HSN...etc.) I thought maybe it was user error or that the product improved. With that in mind, I went to linens n things to purchase it so I could easily return it if they didn't work. I was so careful and treated the bag gingerly.    With a small home and little storage space, I'm always looking for ways to maximize storage space. So, naturally, when I saw the The Original Space Bag Storage Products, I was excited to try them.

How to Use:

Pack your clutter, any items you want to carry and/or protect. Do not pack above fill line. Seal the "zipper" easily with the Sure-ZipTM slider. Their patented closure system ensures an airtight seal for ultimate protection. Vacuum out the air using a vacuum cleaner. The patented one-way valve fits any vacuum hose. Store in your drawer, under bed, closet, garage almost anywhere.

The Space...

    As I said I love to try new things in hope that it would make my life a tad bit easier. My home is very small and don't have a lot of storage space. I was a little uneasy about these bags until I tried them. They are very easy to use and like the TV says they don't take up a lot of space. I have put in a extra large bag 4 winter jackets and 2 pairs of snow pants and still have room for a bit more, then vacuumed the air out and put them under the bed until next year. Why take up the closet space? Why use a rubber maid bin?

Space Bags leak more or less. Return the really leaky ones for free exchange.

As a footnote. I busted a perfectly fine plastic trunk filled with deflated soft stuff,

from my summer house. There is a lot of strength in 10 pillows.

Don't store in a suitcase for more than a day or so, or you will probably ruin it.

When I opened up a bag to stuff it with blankets, the "blue cheap zipper" had already ripped the bag.  There goes a bag! I then opened the 2nd bag and stuffed it with blankets and sucked the air out with vacuum cleaner.  Did the same for the 3rd bag.  An hour later, not kidding, the air was back in there!!  They are only last for about an hour and then the air comes back!  What a rip off!  Just go and buy yourself some garbage bags and stuff them with the blankets.  You might be saving about $20.00!!
