I travel about 45 weeks out of the year, and have found that after flying on Southwest, United, American, Frontier, Midwest, Continental, Delta, and Northwest, Southwest Airlines are by far the best in absolutely everything: price, customer service, friendliness, flight availability, on time departures/arrivals (sometimes early arrivals, and make up for those later departures in the air). For those that have written reviews on bad customer service, cattle-call seating, and being too cheery...wow! If you have to say that your flight attendants are too cheery, you definitely would fit in with the United and American crew. Those airlines aren't too favorable of being even remotely friendly and aren't too helpful if they've cancelled your flight because they didn't sell enough seats. Other airlines limit your free baggage check to two 50 lb. bags. Southwest is the only airline that allows three 50 lb. checked bags. United charges a hefty $85 for a third bag! Southwest offers free curb checking (please tip), while other airlines charge automatically per bag and they have signs requesting a tip also. You need to change your flight? No problem on Southwest...just change it online or with a rep for no additional fee (in most cases, but might charge $25) and you can use the paid ticket amount to go towards your new flight or even save it for your a future flight. They don't cancel their flights either. Other airlines may charge you a $100 change fee or may cancel your flight...oh well. They don't care what your life needs. Southwest does. I love the seating and the boarding process. No need to stand in line and wait...they've got "boarding positions" now. They've gone a step further than the A, B, and C groups. You now have a letter group and a numbered position to determine when you board, still leaving the seats open. You have the luxury of moving if you don't like who sat down next to you or whatever the situation is. Oh, and they've got the most generous rewards program, too.
