I have a lot of bookshelves so when I saw this one on this site, I liked the looks and the reviews so I went out and bought it. I was in the market for a freestanding shelf and have purchased other bookshelves you have to constructed yourself. This shelf is beautifully made. It has three adjustable shelves and two fixed shelves. It fits right in with the build in shelves that I already have in my reading room and office. I had no problem with assembly and it took about thirty minutes to put together. Unlike other shelving units I've purchased, this one doesn't lean in any direction. The shelves are strong and don't sag under the weight of some of the heavy books I have upon it. This bookshelf is extremely heavy so either construct it where you want it to go or have someone help you move it if you're of smaller stature or weak. If you want a good bookshelf at a bargain, this shelf is an excellent buy.

I found a way to make the South Shore Axess Collection 5-Shelf Bookcase serviceable, but I wouldn't purchase another one because it's very fragile. I bought this bookcase to display my books and Blu-ray movies, but quickly realized that this unit couldn't hold a significant amount of weight. I placed a single row of books on the top shelf and immediately it had a dip in the center. Even when I removed all the books the dip remained. In order to combat this problem I installed support beams in the rear on the top shelf and the remaining unsupported shelves. This did greatly improve the amount of items I could place on each shelf without worrying about them breaking, but a new problem presented itself. Each shelf started to slowly lean downward until all of my books slide on to the floor. The only solution I found was to stack items on each shelf high enough to support the shelf above it. I definitely wouldn't recommend the South Shore Axess Collection 5-Shelf Bookcase because it can't handle more than 15 pounds per shelf.

I love my South Shore Axess Collection 5-shelf bookcase in Royal Cherry. I am a huge reader and big fan of non-fiction books on just about anything. In the past I had books all over the house, where ever there was space or I could fit them, or favorite reading spots. That was not the best way to have them organized so my husband bought me this beautiful bookcase. I love it! Apart from the fact that it is absolutely beautiful, practical and attractive, I have all my books together in one place now. Its easy to run over to my bookcase look quickly through them and see what to read next. It saves space and clutter from being all over the house and takes up very little room too. Its a very attractive piece of furniture so you can have it just about anywhere in the house whether the bedroom, office, living room, or even a hallway. I would really suggest this for anyone who needs to have their things organized and in one place. Great for decorations too, if you aren't a big fan of books.

I purchased the South Shores Axess Collection 5-Shelf Bookcase in Royal Cherry to complete my office when I had brown paper on the walls. The rich cherry color looks so classy and deep. Then, I decided to strip off all of the wallpaper and paint the room a sea blue color. And wildly enough, the bookcase looks even better! The contrast of colors is amazing! I love how tall and spacious this shelf is. The back is securely fastened, unlike so many other cheap varieties that seem like they will just fall off. This is a solidly made piece. The shelves are perfectly spaced for storing a wide variety of book sizes. I also love how deep set they are. I can store books, binders or even photo frames with plenty of room. This bookshelf is so versatile, offering both function and style. It looks great in my home but would also go well in a more professional setting like an office.

I am a big fan of our new South Shore Axess Collection 5-shelf Bookcase. While some of those construct your own bookcases out there not constructed with the highest quality material on the market and tend to fall par at after a couple of weeks, that is not the case with the South Shore bookcase. In addition to the quality in production, I am able to place books and knick knacks in all shapes and sizes on the bookcase without worrying about them sliding off or harming the bookcase. I am able to clean / dust our Shout Shore Axess Collection 5-Shelf Bookcase with practically any of my household cleaners and I do not have to worry about harming the surface. The bookcase is also gentle on my floors, as I have not noticed any scratching on the hardwood floors or staining on the carpet that it used to be on when we first incorporated it into our home. No more Ikea for us.

I was looking for a sturdy bookcase in a dark color that would hold a lot of books or any other items I might want to put on it. I was very pleased when I found the South Shore Axess Collection 5-Shelf Bookcase in Royal Cherry color. The shade was perfect and consistent throughout the entire construction of the bookcase. The bookcase was easy to assemble. It is a heavy bookcase so make sure you have it set in the area you want it to be before putting books or other items on it. I do not recommend moving this bookcase while it has things on it. You could cause parts of the bookcase to separate or break. That would not be through fault of the company or the construction of the materials though. I have bought several of these bookshelves. I use one to store my linens and extra bathroom supplies. I have two more that I use for books. I have one in each bedroom and put a combination of books, electronics, and candles on it.

I love the South Shore five shelf cherry bookcase! This piece of furniture looks great in my living room and displays all of my books in an attractive way. There are many different colors to choose from and the cherry looks great with my other furniture pieces. The set up was incredibly easy and this helped me a lot because I am not that handy. I put together the whole book case in twenty minutes of time. The bookcase is made out of sturdy materials. The shelves look high quality and I am not afraid that my books will fall. The book case is the perfect size to hold many books and items. I have all of my antique books that fit on the shelves but I also put some of my other decorative collectibles on it. The price is very reasonable as well. I may even buy multiple book shelves because it blends in with the other furniture that I own. I would highly recommend this book shelf to store books or other valuables.

There's not much to say about a bookcase in my opinion; you either love it or you hate it. In my case with the South Shore Axess Collection 5-Shelf Bookcase, I love it! I love the color of Royal Cherry and it fits perfect with the decor and furnishing of my foyer. With 5 very spacious shelves to work with I wasn't quite sure at first what I was going to fill them all with because although I do appreciate a good book from time to time, I don't have a collection large enough to fill even one full shelf. Since I purchased it mainly for decorative purposes I decided to fill the shelves with decorative vases, figurines and other pieces/items that interest me. Therefore this bookcase ultimately became a display of a little bit of all of the things I enjoy doing or collecting. Since the shelving on this bookcase are not only long but also quite wide, it is easy to keep it from looking cluttered. Therefore, keeping this bookcase in the foyer was okay because it still looks decorative rather than collective. The bookcase shelves some pretty heavy items so I am very pleased with it's sturdiness as well. A great purchase at a great price!

I bought this bookcase for my office. I'm a massage therapist and this bookcase holds my sheets for the massage table, my lotions and creams, my reference books, and other miscellaneous tools and supplies. I needed something that could hold a lot and I did. Plus it looks very nice and looks professional. I love the dark wood look. It was very easy to put together. The one downside is the fact that it is big and it is heavy. I am a small person and I can barely move it. Its in a spot right now that I really like so hopefully I won't have to worry about moving it at all. It is tall and like I said before I am a small person, but it is not so tall that I cannot reach the top shelf because I can. I'm very glad I purchased this. The price was pretty good. It is sturdy and like I said before it holds a lot so I'm really happy with it. It is very easy to clean I either use pledge when I'm dusting or I'll take a rag with simple green or other cleaner and just wipe it down.
