Soothies Gel Pads Review

I breastfed my third child for just over two years. I had run into breastfeeding hurdles, but was never in need of anything more than a good quality nursing pad. Unfortunately, this was not the case with baby number four. When my youngest child was born he took to nursing like he had been born to do it, which, let's be real here...he was! However, when he was six weeks old he became ill and was admitted to the hospital where he ended up staying for thirty days. During that time he was NPO, which in hospital terms means "without food". He was on an IV the whole time, so I pumped. I pumped and I pumped and I pumped some more. I filled up two freezers and still had more to pump. I wasn't really taking very good care of myself and with all the pumping I was doing I soon began to over do things. By the time my son was ready to try nursing again I was completely raw and sore. I sent my husband to the store for the Soothies Gel Pads. I had heard that they worked but didn't know from experience, merely word of mouth. After five days of painful nursing and using the Soothies Gel Pads inbetween sessions I noticed that my breasts had begun to heal, the pain lessened and Wow! was it a relief to put those Soothies in the fridge and then slip them into my bra for relief. The Soothies Gel Pads really made my transition back to breastfeeding easier then it would have been without them. The pain was almost enough to make me give up, but having the cooling comfort of the Soothies was a great help in continuing to give my little guy the best that he deserved. Me!
