Powerful Sony Vaio laptop
I have owned this laptop for about six months and am pretty satisfied with it. The battery life is pretty decent and the laptop responds quickly to commands. This is the first Windows 7 computer that i have worked with and there are some quirky "things" that are different from previous versions. So, there is a little bit of a learning curve. I would suggest that when buying the laptop that purchasers also buy a laptop case specifically for this model. I ordered an after market laptop case and it just doesn't fit the laptop height-wise. The design is pretty sleek and the unit is certianly light enough considering the size. I've always tried to purchase the smallest size laptop avaialbe (always Sony laptops) with a cd/dvd drive - but this time I tried to go the route of a "desktop like" laptop. Regarding the preloaded software - there is a lot. If you are computer savvy you might be able to remove unwanted/unnecessary software. But, other than that I've been happy with how quickly programs open and the ability to hover over icons of open programs to view tumbnail sized images of the document, webpage, etc. Overall, I think you will be impressed. I have always found that Sony products are "leading edge" and this laptop is no different.
