Another great product from Sony.

I bought this controller to go along with the PlayStation 3 my kids got from Santa for Yule. The controller fits well in their hands and functions beautifully. There are absolutely no flaws in this controller and the battery life lasts quite some time. Sometimes you truly do get what you pay for, and this is a great example of that phrase! The Sony PlayStation 3 Six axis Wireless Controller works wonderfully regardless of which game the kids are playing. They have used it on action adventure games as well as war games, and in every instance this controller has functioned properly. The buttons do not stick and it immediately responds to the PlayStation 3 system with no delays unlike some of the generic brand controllers for this system. My kids have dropped this remote a few times, yet it works as flawlessly as it did when we got it out of the box. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be able to know without a shadow of a doubt that the product they purchased is of good quality and is durable.

Best Videogame Controller Ever

5

In my opinion, this has to be thee best controller hands down. When it comes to the weight of this controller, it can be held for hours with very little strain to wrist. Its wireless capabilities are amazing, as you can walk from room to room and still be able to pause and play music and movies. Its sleek stylish design is nice for the eyes, and they thumb grips on the joysticks are very efficient. One feature that is nice about the six axis controller is that certain games allows you to use your controller by tilting and turning it. The thing i'd have to say i like most is that it is easy to recharge and can last for days on end with a single charge. As far as the time it takes to charge i was very pleased, within thirty minutes my controller was ready to use for days. Unlike the xbox controller, you'll never have to buy batteries for your controller again, saving money in the long run. Overall i was very satisfied with this product and would recomend it to others.

Doesn't work very well

It's a good remote for everything except for playing games. It's good for scrolling through netflix or navigating through the other portals that are available on the playstation 3. I got this remote for my son because he wanted a second remote and this one seemed to be a bit cheaper than the other ones I've seen, and I guess there's a reason for that. A day after getting it for him he complained that the buttons "weren't listening to him". I guess that means it doesn't communicate with the ps3 as quickly or as well as other ps3 remotes.

Great feel!

Starting with what I like about the Sony PlayStation 6 axis controller..for one it has a great lightweight feel. This was something i personally always enjoyed about the PlayStation over the other console controllers because during long play sessions you don't want to feel like you're holding a brick. The PlayStation controller definitely makes you feel like you're not holding much of anything and playing effortlessly. I always like the smaller size of the controller because I have smaller hands and it works well for me. I enjoy the analog sticks and the directional pad much more than any other controller as well. For what I don't like is the controller while it has a nice build is definitely not like another brand of controllers. If you grip the controller or press a button too hard you will here the plastic sometimes but it's really not that big of a deal. All in all I grew up with the playstation controller and prefer it over all other controllers to this day for the great lightweight feel, superb analog and directional pad (for playing those old ps1 classics) and just the overall look of the controller. Don't delay and pick yourself up another one of these to game with your friends.

Makers did not do very good at developing the controler.

Needs lots of work to make it worth buying. The buttons lock up easily, the charge did not last more than six hours for me. The thought behind the manufacturers was crap. It would have been more cost efficient to make a neon gas controller. This was a product not worth buying. I regret it seriously.

Not a Big Fan

When Sony launched the Playstation 3 in November 2006, it included the Sixaxis Wireless Controller. This was the next iteration of Sony's dual shock controller that was used with Playstation 2. I feel that the Sixaxis controller fell flat in trying to emulate the success of its predecessor. My main complaint with this controller, is that it weighs practically nothing and has a lightweight, cheap feel about it. Another major drawback to this controller, is that it does not feature the ability to rumble. Sony obviously agreed that this was a poor decision and has since released a Dual Shock 3 controller which is weightier and features rumble.

PS3 Controller the pits!

1

The PS3 controller is not very easy to use if you have big hands. You'll also notice a slant to the trigger buttons which cause you to "slide off" if you are in the middle of intense shooting, them being slippery as they are. It's just not a comfortable feel. The overall face design seems a bit flawed as well as the thumbsticks are too close together and not easy and comfortable to get to. The start and back buttons seem hidden as far as their positions are concerned due to it's design. I have had a PS3 for some time (picked it up when Blu-Ray players were priced through the roof) and have not used it for gaming due to the controller. I just don't see how this controller is so popular due to it's poor design. The shoulder buttons are equally annoying to get to as are the 4 colored buttons. It just does not feel natural trying to use it to game with. The chargeing cable that comes with it it what?....a foot long??? You obviously can't play, if you wnated to, while it was charging. Hopefully a third part manufacturer will design one that is better suited for gaming because as it is I will just use the PS3 as a Blue-Ray player.

The best PS Controller yet!

I don't know why people are saying negative things about this controller. Personally, I love mine and have never had a problem with it. Unlike him, though, I wouldn't consider myself a heavy gamer, so maybe that's where the gap lies. So what do I like about this controller? First off, this controller is WIRELESS, which may seem like a given to today's generation but is something that I certainly don't take for granted (buy a PS2 or PS1 and you'll see what I mean!). Being wireless, you'd think that it would need batteries (as past wireless controllers did), but it is actually completely rechargeable and the battery life is fantastic. I have to charge this thing maybe once a week (and since I have 2 controllers, this is absolutely no problem, since I'm mostly doing 1-player games anyway). Like its predecessor, the controller features a rumble pack inside that vibrates when you are shot or dealt damage in games, adding an extra level of immersion to your gaming experience. It comes in standard black, though other colors are available, especially if you're going to buy a third-party controller (which I never recommend). A great all-around package here folks!

sixaxis controller ruined PS3 launch

2

While I was super excited for the ensuing release of the Playstation 3 over 4 years ago, but when I heard that there would be no DualShock for the controller, I was pessimistic that the Sixaxis alone would be good enough for the controller, and it turned out I was right. Launching the Playstation 3 with solely the Sixaxis in the controller was a big mistake, as game developers worked to add terrible and uninteresting features to their games to utilize it and nowadays, the feature is a throwaway option that I never even realize unless I read the game manual. Uncharted used it TWICE right at the start of the game and then knowing that it was a waste of time to have it, gave it up. On top of a deep seated hatred, it is way too light, it was too pricey for a lack of rumble and it stemming from its lightness, was weak as it. I think it was a mistake to not settle with DualShock creator before releasing the PS3, but fortunately Sony got its act together and got us DualShock3.
