Favorable Review
I saved for 2 months and was deciding between the Wii, Xbox 360, or the Playstation 3. I even talked to geeks in a chat room, and read everything they said. Which was rather difficult, as I don't know a lot of "tech speak." I read reviews, did my research, and I decided to get the 40 gig…

Critical Review
I wanted a system to be able to play online games and keep my mega-computer virus free. Store was sold out of the XBox and I wanted something *now* so I ponied up (sucker!) for the playstation with all the bells and whistles, so I really screwed myself. — I'll be honest. I…

I heard a lot of people complaining about the high price of the Playstation 3 and I tended to agree until this past Christmas season when I was contemplating getting an Xbox 360 for my kids. I saw an Xbox 360 advertised for $279 and figured that would be a good deal compared to $400 for a PS3. However, when I looked deeper I found that in order to connect to my wireless home network, I'd have to purchase an external adapter for $100. Also, the "Arcade" version does not have a built in hard drive. The PS3 will accept any Bluetooth wireless headset, but the Xbox will…

First, I want you to know that I purchased this console for two reasons. The first is as a game machine, and so far it has performed admirably. Grand Theft Auto 4, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Rock Band are the four games I currently own for this system and each one is incredibly impressive. Especially Rock Band, if you have more than one person playing this system! — The second reason I purchased it is for its media playback capabilities. Not only does this machine play Blu-Ray discs (the de facto winner of the HD format war) and regular…

well i finally got my hands on PS3(40gig) i chose to wait to see if Sony would have the same issues that Microsoft had with the "red ring of death"..i didn't think they would make the same mistake. do to my budget i got the 40gig, i don't have the luxury of living with my parents and have no bills to worry about..so the 40gig it is..while the only obvious difference between the 3 is the memory space, the ability to play ps2 games, and a few more usb slots and expandable memory slot,i am very pleased with it..it does alot more than i thought is did..one interesting thing is, i use a…

I've played Juiced 2 (drifting car game) and Assassin's Creed on here. I'm blown away at the graphics it can give you. I thought at first that my TV was HDTV since the graphics from Juiced 2 were beautiful. I have yet to play Assassin's Creed on the same TV since I beat it on a smaller one before we moved.
This is the cheapest Blu - Ray player you can buy as well. I have yet to play the Spiderman 3 movie that came with the console, but I bet it works great. Also, you don't need to pay extra money like the Xbox 360 does to get online or the HD-DVD add on as well.
Although, I have to…

we just went to buy our ps3 and found that you best be careful what youre buying. tthe regular ps3 you find for between 300 and 350 dollars plays only ps3 games. if you want to play ps or ps2 games you have to spring for the 80 gig backward compatible system which runs in the 500 dollar range. then it also takes an additional adapter which is sold seperately for 15 to 20 bucks in order to use ps and ps2 memory cards. all told the ps3, 80 gig, adapter, and two games was nearly 700 dollars. each to his own, but personally i think it should have equiped to do the dishes, wash the clothes, and…

I have owned a PS3 for quite a while now. I actually didn't pay full price for it, someone sold me theirs for about $300. I am completely amazed with the graphics, the gameplay is so smooth, sometimes it seems as if there is no loading at all. I'm not sure if the Blue-Ray feature has anything to do with it or not, but even regular DVD's look impressive. There are so many things one can do with the console; I have upgraded mine twice, now I can play games while downloading things off the internet. Plus, there are numerous pieces of…

willing to pay for quality, loving this box!, a nintendo fanboy, not scratching the screen, a nintendo fan, wife to playstation addict, 20 pounds overweight, thanks for asking, family traveler
We are in love with the PS3! Not only is it awesome to play games on, but the other qualities we are finding make it totally worth the expense. The quality it brings to movies on our HDTV is amazing! The best thing about the PS3 is when a memory card is inserted with digital pictures and it does this amazing screensaver. We LOVE having this going when we have people over for dinner...talk of the night!! —…

ps3 nice try onto the market but epic fail ..i do not like the fact that the ps3 dosent offer the fun option of the blades or new system of way to keep track of everything from new demos to current new and free demos other features of the xbox360 include market place downloads and using points to buy xbox original games ...ps3 has free but slow and very slippy like internet that reminds me of dial…

willing to pay for quality
ALthough it might be a little pricey the ps3 is the best gaming sysytem i have ever played. The graphics are ridiculous and the games are insane. The online is tough to get working sometimes, but it usually works just fine. The constant needs for updates gets annoying but is well worth it when thye are done. Overall this system is way better than xbox 360 and i would recomment to…

Great system. I use it everyday be it playing a game, watching great HD movies, or surfing the internet on my 52 inch screen. Ive had some issues with on-line games trying to get into games with other people. but other than that its a great system. The price has dropped to $399 making more affordable. I will give the ps3 a 5 star…
