For all but the most hardcore gamers, this console is perfect. The fact that companies are still putting out PS2 compatible games years after the Playstation 3 was introduced says an awful lot about the durability of the device.

I have been a loyal user of the ps2 for several years and that console has provided me countless hours of entertainment.  Someday I hope to upgrade to a PS3, but I'm really happy until that time comes.  What else is there to say?  There is a massive library of games to play.  Let me list just a few of those titles.  Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2, Resident Evil 4, Any WWE Video Game, Any Street Fighter Game, Fire Pro Wrestling and countless more!!!

I forgot to mention that the PS2 is also a media center.  It can play CDs and DVDs as well as PSOne...

Our family has owned the Playstation 2 for probably 3 years. It has brought lots of enjoyment to our household. One of our favorite games to play on it is Twisted Metal, where you drive around and try to incapacitate other vehicles. Anyways our PS2 has lasted us for quite sometime. We watch dvd's on it sometimes as well. The only complaints I have about the game system are: it is difficult to turn off, you have to hold your finger on the button the correct amount of time, which is hard to determine. If you touch it quickly it turns off and turns back on immediately, so you have to hold it down....

I absolutely love my Sony Playstation2.  I had the same game system for about 8 years before I recently had to go out and buy a new one.  It doesn't matter how many new high tech game systems have come out over the last 10 years becasue to me, the Sony Playstation 2 will always be the best game system.  I love that it isn't over complicated but it is still challenging and simple enough to use.  I dread the day when I can no longer find new games for my Sony playstation 2.  I like the fact that you can also play your old playstation 1 games on it also.  It is a sleek, slim design that fits...

If you can't afford a PS3 right now, a PS2 is a great console for you.  I have had a PS2 since 2003, great games, cheap at that matter.  I have never had a problem with it, the PS2 is a very solid console.  You can buy them used between $50-$60, so the average Joe can afford it.  Games to check out are God Of War 1 & 2, Final Fantasy 10 & 12, Tony Hawk Project 8, those are great starters.  So overall, the PS2 is a good system, that's affordable, and lots of fun.
