There can be no denying that the PlayStation Two is a great gaming system - and perhaps the best overall console of its generation (if for no other factor than its extensive game selection), but the "slim" version of the PlayStation Two has a major issue which I was unable to overlook-the inability to play DVDs.

This is certainly NOT the quality of the PS3 but, for the price, there are still a lot of used games around to be played. And the system and the games are very affordable. I would recommend this for kids or teens.

I still think its funny how out of all the old generation systems, the Playstation 2 is actually still alive (XBOX and the Nintendo Gamecube pretty much only exist to grab dust for most people) but the PS2 is still alive and kicking, making it one of the better old gen systems. PS2 is still strong and has a lot of replay values, boasting titles like Persona, Kingdom hearts, and even Rock Band/Guitar Hero for fans of those series. Furthermore, it is pretty small, and also fairly cheap compared to before. Obviously the PS3 and all that good jazz do exist. The PS3 does not give playback (cannot play PS2 games) so buy a PS2 if you wish. It's still a good system. Just know that the graphics of the games you play wont be TOO good.

Once you buy a sony gaming console one thing is for sure you are never going back to another brand name. Sony is the pioneer in making high end video gaming consoles. Before the playstation I owned the game boy by nintendo and now when I look back that seems like ages and ages ago. Sony play station is a household name now everyone from young to old has not only heard about it and seen it but probably also owned it at some point or the other in their lives. What I love about the PS2 is that now its dirt cheap and you can even probably find a used one from an online store for half the price. Its really sleek and tiny so its easy to store and even if you are going on a trip or taking it with you it's not at all a pain. The games for the PS2 are easy to find and on the cheap which is an added bonus so you don't have to spend a lot on games. The graphics for most of the games is just simply mazing and you will definitely fall in love with the graphics. So if the PS3 is out of reach for you go for a PS2 you wont be disappointed.

the playstaiton 2 was the classic console that will go down in history as one of the revolutionary consoles that lasted a long time and was one of the most popular units ever sold that was not made by nintendo. this silver model is very cool and a different color than the orginal black console. the black console had a drive that ejected out and eventually started to becaome old adn grind the gears inside, where as the new consoles the ps2 slims became a pop top so there were not any more probelms getting discs out of the drives. i didlike that feature but i will miss the ejecting tray which seems more classy and less cheap. sony did a nice job on upgrading the ps2 and allowing it to be cheaper yet still the game quaitly for the gamers taht were still catching up in the console space race. the ps2 does not have too many new games coming out now but the other games are still classic and fun

I was a big fan of the N64 and when one day my brothers came back with a ps2, I almosted peed my pants. It was one of the best sytems ever. I though the N64 couldn't be triumphed til that fatefull day. I just wish I would have known ahead of time so I wouldn't have wet my pants and instead of a diaper. This cosole was revolutionary, and had everything going for it to be the best system on the planet. I had one of the best and robust gaming catalog one could imagine. From the best racing game to the sneakiest racoon. I just loved how much effort they put in this system to make it the best possible. I would come home one day and pick up the Playstation 2 control and go to town on it. I just loved every series that came out on it such as the infamous Twisted Metal Black. Even til this day I play it on occasions with my brother to rack up some serious gaming. So with this, if you want a cheap system with great games get this.

The 'PlayStation 2', made by Sony, has been, and still is, awesome. The graphics when the PlayStation 2 had been a really big improvement over Sony's previous console, the PlayStation. Back when it was released, the graphical capabilities of the PlayStation 2 often hadn't been met, while recently, the developers had been pushing the graphical limitations of the PlayStation 2 to the limits of itself. Saving your games on the PlayStation 2 relies on the usage of Memory Cards. Normally the PlayStation 2 comes with memory cards, but if you need more space for your games, you would need to buy another memory card. You can only have two memory cards plugged in at a time. Controllers of the PlayStation 2 are really comfortable. The controllers have two analog sticks, one for your left thumb, and one for your right thumb, and it has a pad, if you don't want to use the analog stick. There are 12 buttons on the PlayStation 2, two of which are the two analogs sticks when you press down on them, a one button to switch between analog stick and pad. You can only have two controllers plugged at a time, which is a con, because there are some games out there which support up to four player. In order to play with four controllers, you would have to purchase a Multi-tap, which allows more controllers to be plugged in. Although, after prolonged usage of it, the disk-reading laser may start to wear out. This can either be fixed by; getting a new if you have a warranty, sending it to get it repaired, or buying a new one.

I got the PlayStation 2 a long time ago and i love it a lot i have played a lot of very good games on it from kids games to adult games so this is for everyone no matter what age you are you should definitely buy a PlayStation 2 even though it is a little bit out dated it still has a lot of good games like jack and daxter,ratchet and clank and it also has mature games like Gran theft auto and god of war which is for adults,I never had a problem with my PlayStation 2 and it works very good and the games play good without any problems what so ever so if you plan on buying a PlayStation 3 but that cost too much and you cant afford it you can just buy a PlayStation 2 and still have lots of fun and it also has online so you can verse your friends while playing online or random people.the PlayStation 2 can get a little hot but its not a problem because it still works fine so i think it is suppose to be like that.

We have this machine, this is our second one. The first one broke when it was knocked off the bottom shelf of our TV Stand. A total fall of about 3 inches. Broke the eye, and we had to replace the machine. All around good machine, but very easily breakable!!
