Well Sony you finally made it into the 21st Century.  XBox has been out for how many years now.  And you were bold enough to think that the PS3 was worth more than an Xbox? — Now that the price has been dropped ($ 399) for a 60gb it is now a reasonable alternative.  The game… read full review »

Ever since Sony got their start in 1995 they been on a role and in only a few years they even managed to capture the big number 1 name in the gaming business beating out heavy hitters like Nintendo, Sega, and Microsoft. Now the highly anticipated Playstation 3 is finally here and Sony's latest… read full review »

We just bought this Sony PlayStation, mainly for our son, but it was a joy and still is for the whole family. We all just love it! So many different sound effects and quality itself is outstanding. One bad thing about it is that we often have to remind our son to get busy with his homework, because it seems he enjoys his Playstation way too much. But other than that... everything is… read full review »

It took alot of time to save for it with a family of 4 on one income but it was worth the wait and the best purchase we ever made as far as gaming goes. My boys are both teenagers and they haven't had to switch out games as they would have for another system. The backwards play works great and the newer games WOW on the graphics. Normally I can't watch the more intense graphic games due to an eye problem and motion sickness but not with the PS3 games. — It also has a little something for everyone, which made the price reasonable compared to what you get for your money. There's no more… read full review »

Sony's PS3 is indeed the next generation of video games, yet no one would know this. Although it has a monstrous Blu-Ray HD DVD player that has amazing sound and picture when hooked up to a 1080p television through an HDMI, no games fully utilize the sound or picture quality, which is sad. Many of the games are not worthy of PS2, let alone PS3! Sony really needs to up the Ante and create games that can fully use every sick nook of this powerful system; otherwise, I will keep buying my titles for XBOX… read full review »

its a pretty good system overall.  much better quality then last years playstation 2. i dont understand what all the "hype" was when it first came out though. honestly its a bit over rated. we played madden on both the xbox 360 and the playstation 3.....its way better on xbox360 then the ps3. now for that reason we had to buy both systems for our boys. was disappointed by that. movie quality is pretty good on the ps3. but in all honesty for the price.... its too high.… read full review »

The Sony Playstation 3 60 GB is one of the best systems I have bought so far. I bought it for my 6 year old son and he loves it. The graphics are great and it's still easy enough for him to use and play. The only thing I do not like about it is that there are not as many games as there are for the other systems but hopefully that will improve over… read full review »

let me first start with saying i have been a huge fan of sony playstation since the first playstation came out. i now own the ps2,psp,ps3. i love them all. the ps3 is great. you can use it for gamming, watching bluray movies, chat, emails, going online to browse. its awesome that it communicates with my psp. im able to bygames from the ps3 store for my psp and download them right from the ps3. i get amazed at the graphics the ps3 has. the graphics are so real looking on the ps3. i think sony did a great job with the ps3. i know i loose track of time sometimes when im playing the ps3. i… read full review »

The good: — The PS3 is a sexy piece of hardware, make no bones about it. Slickly designed to appeal to the techie set (like me), it really is the antithesis of the Wii, with a hi-tech look and build that will impress the casual and hard-core, alike. — — It does an excellent job of playing DVDs and — (especially) Blu-Ray, with the capability to output at 1080p for HDTVs via HDMI. — — It has tons of functionality and settings, including built-in wireless network connectivity, the ability to surf the web via an internal web browser and an online… read full review »

First there was Pong.  Yes, i'm old enough to remember the days of the Atari vs. Coleco wars.  Back then, we thought the graphics were good.  Then came Nintendo with their 8 bit system.  Of course, I had to have it.   Then Sega came out with the Genesis.  That by far was the best system out at than time.  The games were great, and there was tons of them!   Neo-Geo.....dead on arrival.  The bad move for Sega came with their Sega CD and then the 32X, which should have never been made because the Sega Saturn was months from being… read full review »

The Plastation 3 is so much more then a playstation especially if you have a nice home theater system. The PS3 not only plays games from all three systems but it also plays my blu-ray and DVD movies, streams my entire music collection over my home network (perfect when you have people over or during a party.), gives me access to my entire photo collection over my home network and plays all my videos. Now you need a home server or a cleverly configured home PC to get this kind of functionality but for those who can set one up it's great. (You can also hire outside help to set this up for you.)… read full review »

As a diehard fan of Microsoft's Xbox 360, I fully expected to find plenty of issues with Sony's oft-delayed PlayStation 3 (PS3). The price is an obvious sticking point: A fully-loaded 60 GB version of the console retails for a horrific $600, a full $200 more than the premium Xbox 360 version. Availability, as I write this, is still an issue: The console has yet to ship in Europe and other major markets, and in the US, finding a PS3 is like winning the lottery: You have to be really lucky, and in the right place at the right time, though there are indications that this situation is… read full review »

Heads above the competition. Great graphics and sound. I'd gladly pay more for this than get another X-Box!!! The sleek body styling of the PS3 makes it an attractive addition to the entertainment center and also allows for good air circulation in the hard drive (preventing the overheating issue that has become a common occurrence in the X-Box). I love the fact that the controller can be plugged in or wireless and you simply plug it back in to charge the battery. This is very convenient. The six gyroscopes inside the controller also make for interesting game play. For example, in Heavenly… read full review »

Competition for XBOX 360 AND Nintendos Wii? It is the FIRST console with storage media- ie Blu Ray as well as playing DVDs and  CDs.Backward capability is a major problem with this generation of PS! Fews of the PS2 games will paly in this unit, forcing the consumer to buy all new games for this console.NOT GOOD!AND to save production costs they dumped the Emotion Engine hardware support! — It has pretty much the same things as xbox 360 and Wii-ability to edit play lists for photos and music, wireless rumbling remote controller, plays videos, has storage and more. — On the good… read full review »
