The Plastation 3 is so much more then a playstation especially if you have a nice home theater system. The PS3 not only plays games from all three systems but it also plays my blu-ray and DVD movies, streams my entire music collection over my home network (perfect when you have people over or during a party.), gives me access to my entire photo collection over my home network and plays all my videos. Now you need a home server or a cleverly configured home PC to get this kind of functionality but for those who can set one up it's great. (You can also hire outside help to set this up for you.)

Now the 60GB model also has a built in "emotion engine" which is the main processor from the PS2. What does that mean to you? It means that PS2 games will run as they were originally intended. The 20GB and 60GB models are the only ones that have the chip. The 80GB model uses software to run older games and the 40GB does not support old games at all. Given the 60GB model has been discontinued by Sony but if your in the market I recommend it if you can find it.

The blue tooth remote is AWESOME! It works on a radio frequency so you don't have to point it at the system when using it. In fact it works from across the house and even in other rooms of the hosue! I can play music while in a different room and pause the playback when I get a phone call. Who cares that it doesn't control the WHOLE home theater system, that's a what a universal remote is for.

In conclusion the only thing the PS3 doesn't do is DVR functions, otherwise it's my whole home teather world in one box. Blu-Ray, DVDs, my music collection, my picture collection, my video collection, the internet, and even a way for me to connect to my friends that have PS3s via the friends list. I've had the system for over a year and it's a quality built machine with never a single issue yet. High quality components keep fan noise to a minimum and result in a device that will serve you for decades! If you have an expensive home teater system and it's not connected to a PS3, your selling yourself short.
