It took alot of time to save for it with a family of 4 on one income but it was worth the wait and the best purchase we ever made as far as gaming goes. My boys are both teenagers and they haven't had to switch out games as they would have for another system. The backwards play works great and the newer games WOW on the graphics. Normally I can't watch the more intense graphic games due to an eye problem and motion sickness but not with the PS3 games.
It also has a little something for everyone, which made the price reasonable compared to what you get for your money. There's no more running from this room to that room to see a new video online with the wi-fi capability, The keyboarding on remote has been a little tricky for me - an avid PONG fan and so many buttons but I learned quickly and my sons are a big help - we surf TOGETHER now instead off in our own worlds which makes for great family time. The system has pretty much made our 'entertainment' centery obsolete (except for the surround sound - it's awesome with the games!)
I call it the little computer in our living room and we do spend alot more time there as a family.
I would like to see more games gearted towards adults. I'm not a huge gamer and while I enjoy reminding my sons that they are losing horribly (they hate it - on of the few mommy joys) and throwing out a hint or two it would be nice to pop in a game that I enjoy too.
I am told there are too few games overall but I don't see that as far as the games my kids like to play.
Best christmas gift we ever gave ourselves!
