The Playstation 2 system is worth the investment. Even though my husband bought the system for my kids to play, he gets more use out of it than they do. — No, Playstation 2 system doesn't compare to Wii, but it isn't as expensive either. It sounds silly, but playing the Playstation 2 with my kids is an easy way to spend time with them.  What I like about the PS2 is that there is a WIDE variety of games to choose from.  You can also play DVD's on it!  The graphics are very good.  I am really DUMB about hooking these things up to the television, but this one is actually EASY to do.  If I can hook it up, ANYONE can! — I don't know if my kids are tough on the system or what, but we've actually went through two of them.  They get used an awful lot so maybe that's why it wears out?  Also,… read full review »

This is a really great system.  I haven't had any problems with it.  There are a lot of games for PS2.  Lots of good sports, action and role playing games.  With the better high quality graphics and how great the games are made, it does get frustrating on how long it takes some games to load.  THis gaming system also allows you to play DVDS through the system and comes with a remote control for it. —… read full review »

PS2 was awesome when it first came out. It had classic games like GTA3, Vice City, Madden etc.... no need to go on about the games; we all know how good they were. One thing that really bummed me out about this console was when it took a turn for the worst, after having it for about 2 years, and refused to read any of my discs. I played it somewhat regulary, it's not like I was on the thing for 10 hours a day or anything. I might have played it around 3 or 4 times a week for a couple hours at a time at most... I have been a video game player for 25 years. I have owned the Atari, sega genisis, sega cd, super nintendo, playstation 1, X box and the PS2, And let me tell you the PS2 blows them all out of the gaming water ( I don't don't have the Ps3 yet hint hint Santa ). I have had my PS2 for 5 years and it has never broke down and has never needed anything more than a cleaning. I bought my son a Playstation 2 when they were first released, and he played it for years with no problem. When it finally gave up the ghost, I replaced it with the newer, slim line Playstation2. Again, the folks at Sony have made a quality product. We have  had no problems whatsoever with this system, and believe me, it has thousands of hours of use on it! My son was interested in the Playstation3 when it was released, but with it's high price tag, I am sure it will be a while before we invest in one. Love it, love it.  My mother purchased this game for my son in 2001.  It is still working!  He dropped it the first day and several other times.  I love playing some of the games with him.  We spend hours playing together.  I especially enjoy the racing games.  The graphics are great.  We have other game consoles but this is the favorite.  Even though it's still working my son wants the newer PS 2 for Christmas.  We are getting another one because of the price. Overall my experience with the PS 2 has been great.  Most of… read full review »

Our 5 kids, as well as my husband are big ps2 fans. The variety of games is wonderful. We can find appropriate games for our 6 year old (that she loves, by the way) as well as many games that our older children find exciting. We have both boys and girls and again, there are games available for all of them. We have had our system since it came out, 3  years ago I think, and it still works fine, despite frequent use- and use by younger children. A neighbor complained that he had to replace his twice.
