    it allows me to play dvd's, Broad spectrum of game types and genres, Over 800 different titles, Games rated for age groups, Simple interface, Reliable, fair prices on games, Good quality, Fun

Cons
    Requires an adapter to get online, Not a big online community, being outdated, Isn't 'the latest and the greatest', not as kid friendly as say, Nintendo, No internal storage

The Playstation 2 gaming console is one of the most reliable systems produced that can handle the vast genre selections of todays gamers.  This system has a game for just about any gamer out there and it can play dvd's on top of that.  If you want a system that won't cost you too much money, can play dvd's, and has probably the largest game selection out of any single system around, the Playstation 2 is the right system for you.  It may require more components than some of the newer systems but it is still quite the outstanding gaming console.
