Great player, excellent customer service!

Love this player!!! Easy to use, lots of options (like video, radio and recording) also love the external speakers for sharing my music with others, or listening to as I fall asleep. Sadly, my original player broke down after a yr & 1/2 of use, but Sony has great customer service & they fixed me right up with a replacement model for a decent fee. Couldn't be happier!

Easy, Fun and Great!

I did alot of research on mp3 players before settling on this one, which I got in Red. I bought it about a year and a half ago (could've been more?), and this is one great player! It's very well-made, soooo easy to operate, has good sound, great size and is so much fun. I've dropped this player so many times, with no harm coming to it--screen is still great, sounds good still, everything works just as good as when I first bought it. It fits comfortably in my hand, and it's not so small that I have to worry about losing it. I rate the sound as "good" and not "very good" because it's a tiny bit tinny, but I bought an iHome portable speaker to hook up to it and it's now a powerhouse--awesome! But even without the speaker it still put out a pretty good volume. It's not as fancy as maybe an iPod, but that's not something I was looking for. And it's very compatible with more companies to download music and just is very easy for me, and for someone that is wanting something uncomplicated. I've just about completely filled up this player with music and photos, and when I run out of room on it I'll buy another one just like it. It's worth it. Sound Quality Good quality, with just a bit tinniness, but loud volume.

**Sony NWZ-S545**, is a great MP3 player if your priority is to keep your music, videos and pictures along with you in one place, but you won't be able to show it off to your friends or even be really proud with it. It's just a thing that you own. Don't take it the wrong way; I mean it plays your music and videos really well and your pictures will look great on it, but it's just average. The headphone is okay, but it works quite well; that is to be expected from a free headphone. One thing that this MP3 player standout from the other average MP3 players out there is that it have a built-in speakers; I mean the quality is not outstanding but if you're into speakers, it has one. If you have a really low budget, this would be the perfect MP3 player for you. It works really well but in the meantime, if you could, you should probably start saving for a better MP3 player.** **

I m writing my very second review. It may be hard to explain the best features of this sony music player/ Its amazing sound clarity, base and treble adjustment settings make it one of the best music players. Though, it is having the built in speekers, i hardly use it. But i found it is working well too. The FM radio is amazing. I am not finding difficulty to add or remove songs. Its damn easy. The video clarity is amazing. I will definetly recommond for any one. Though, I feel that player has its own advantages tha ipod, with its builtin speekers and clear FM radio. I also purchased recently one for my wife and its also wonderful. I love sony music players and head phones. OVerall i will recommend this product for anyone.......

Ok for the money

I have yet to fill up the memory, but thats not because there is tons of it, more along the lines of because I am lazy and to cheep to buy music! I realized this, and that is why I did NOT purchase a more expensive MP3 player or IPod. I mostly use my sony mp3 player to work out with. I like the color, my husband doesn't feel girly when he borrows it! I like the format it is easy to follow and find what you want to listen to. I also like the hold button so it doesn't get messed with when you are listening to it while working out! The FM radio is a nice feature too. Although it doesn't come in the greatest when I'm in the gym, it works fine when walking or running outside. There are a few things I dislike about this Sony MP3 player. first: the ear buds that came with it hurt my ears, and don't stay in when I go running, even my husband won't use them. I went out and purchased a soft pair that are smaller and fit better. Second: I wish the battery life was longer. It seems like twice a week I get to the gym to find my sony MP3 player is dead, or dies half way through my workout. third: I wish you could "play" with it, ex: the settings while it is attached to the computer. Overall for a non serious music listener I recommend this sony mp3 player. If you want a ton of music stored or you use it a lot, spending a little more money may not be a bad idea. Things you should consider buying along with the sony MP3 player, alternate form of charging system. It comes with a cord that charges it through your computer only. Also, an arm band so you have somewhere to put the player when you need your hands.

I love my NWZ S545 MP3 Player

This Christmas I finally got my first MP3 player. Yessss! I love it! It's super easy to figure out and can do everything I need it to. Sure it doesn't have wifi and games and all that fancy stuff the touchscreen ones do nowadays, but this is perfect for what I need. It even does videos, which is a bonus. I hear it's a pretty good price, too. I never did much care about name brands. Anyway, I plan to use all 16 GB. The battery life seems to be really good. I've listened to several hours and haven't had to charge the battery (though the battery charges automatically everytime you sync it, of course). my one complaint is that the earbuds that come with it keep falling out, but I guess you can't expect much more from standard earbuds. Hopefully soon I can get some more comfortable/better-sticking earbuds. The speaker feature is nice, though, for when I'd rather not have the earbuds and I don't have any of those speakers you plug in... so the built-in speakers are nice that way :)

LOVE this MP3 player!

My husband got this MP3 player for me about 3 years ago, and I absolutely love it!  I use it everywhere, and the fact that it plays videos is great for keeping my 2-year-old occupied when we have to wait for something.  It works with Windows Media player, or you can just drag and drop straight into the folders.  If you want to make a playlist, you have to use WMP, though.  It's easy to take music off and put new music on without having to wipe the entire device and start from scratch.  It holds a pretty good, charge as well, with the "power saver" feature, I can leave it "on" for about 3 days (not playing) and it won't really affect the charge.  I can play it all day long and only lose about 1/3 of the battery life.  It charges from your computer via a USB connector, and I usually just charge mine at night.  Another nice thing (not sure if it's still available) is that my husband got it engraved with my name.  All in all, I would recommend this device to anyone - the price is way better than others out there, and you get a lot for your money.

NWZ s545 is great

I received this for Christmas in 2009, to replace the Samsung 256K (or was it 512?) player I had nearly worn out.  I use it daily.  It does load easily with Windows Media player.  I also like how the songs can be put into a playlist by rating and year and genre.  But that information is only as good as when it was loaded into the player.  If your media library is wrong, it will be wrong on the player, and cannot be altered on the player.  The screen is pretty good.  I have uploaded workout pics and knitting instructions for use while traveling.  The text wasn't crystal clear, it may have been a function of the size.   I miss being able to delete songs from the player without using the computer like I was able to do with the Samsung.  The speakers aren't the best quality.  I get the complaint that my music is 'tinny'.  The controls are easy, but sometimes the buttons are a bit slow to react while paging through the music list.  I have only made a couple of recordings with the player, but wasn't too impressed with the quality.  Maybe if I tried more or refined how I did it, I would have a clear copy.  The screen is, by now, pretty scuffed.  I also received an accessory pack to go with it, including a rubber sleeve.  The sleeve itself is starting to tear at the corners.  The belt clip design seemed pretty good, until it started to come unscrewed.  One part goes under the sleeve, and another screws into it from the outside.  That part clips into a belt clip.  It would come undone while running.  In fact, I lost the outside piece of it while running one day. I have since found that piece, but have lost the one that went inside the sleeve.  Overall, I am thrilled with the player.  It has taken me quite a while to fill it, and I have a hard time figuring out which songs to cull from my list.  I just wish it and the accesories were a bit tougher, or that modifications could be made without using the computer.

Sony S series MP3 Player easy to use.

I purchased the Sony Walkman NWZ-S545 16GB mp3 player as a birthday present for my mother.  I wanted to upgrade her from my hand-me-down 2nd generation Ipod Nano.  The Sony Walkman holds 16GB of music, videos, pictures, and digital recordings.  Out of the box it has about 14GB of space that can actually be used due to software on the mp3 player.  The S545 is the red choice in their S series.  It has a 2.4 inch LCD with 240 x 320 QVGA pixel resolution.  It supports a wide variety of audio and video formats making it easy to use with other music formats.  The Sony Walkman is very easy to operate.  It has a hold feature so that you can use to lock the keys down so that it cannot be turned back on by just hitting the keys.  My mother has had a good playback time from single charges.  The S545 has external speakers and a headphone connection.  The external speakers are ok, but the music sounds better through headphones.  My mother has a different pair of headphones other than what comes with it, so she can't really say how well those are.  Loading your music and videos and pictures is very easy with the software Sony sends with the player.  You can drag and drop from Windows Media Player or ITunes onto the player, or you can just drag and drop files.  The picture quality on the videos and pictures are very clear.  My mother loves being able to show her pictures of our dog to everyone.  I would highly recommend the Sony Walkman NWZ-S545 to everyone who doesn't really want to spend an outrageous amount on an Ipod.  Great playback quality and ease of use makes this a great little player for everyone.
