These closed headphones will run for your money. They have extremely good balance, and their comfort is definitely taken part of the design of these headphones. The Sony MDR-XB500 is something I would recommend for someone, at least for the entry level of earphones that want to experience closed headphones. They're not exactly like Sennheiser's closed headphone selection, but these earphones at least won't make your ears feel like they're in a suction vacuum everytime you wear them, or take them off. The bass response is good, and the range I have no problems with. They definitely do not compete against high end headphones, but they're a good entry level headphone for anyone that wants to spend a bit of money to see how good headphones are. The build is solid, and the cushions are actually pretty nice compared to others I've tried. They're not portable, since they cannot fold up, so I expect these to be only for desktop usage. Overall, this is a recommended buy.
