We purchased this television in the early fall of '07 to replace a smaller non-HD TV.  We got it on sale and no interest for 18 months, so it's an even bigger bargain!  It is easy to operate out of the box - not a lot of programming experience necessary (this coming from a computer programer).  The buttons on the remote are self-explanatory and it offers many of the fuctions that anyone would want.

I will say that it takes several seconds to warm up and for the picture to appear initially, but once it's on, it is an absolute beautiful picture.  Compared to our old TV... well, there is no comparison!!!  You can view in full mode which many of the networks still broadcast in (black sections to the left and right of the picture), zoom mode, which I find to be too big for the screen, and wide zoom which fills the screen without zooming the picture too far off the screen.

This TV has the capability for input from several devices, and you can even label each input to let you know which one is which -- i.e. DVD, Video Player, etc.  There is also the ability to save your favorite channels for quick jumping between them.  There is also a JUMP button on the remote to allow you to quickly jump between the last 2 channels you've just viewed.

I would rate this TV the highest rating possible for clarity of picture and ease of use right out of the box.  I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a TV of this size and nature.  It is less than 100 pounds - easy to move for two people!
