Best phone I have ever had

5

I have had several other brands of cell phones and I even had a Blackberry. My husband bought this for me for Christmas and once I learned how to do everything with it, all I have to say is this is my new best friend. I don't leave home without it with me. It loads internet pages super fast, can run multiple pages at once without slowing down. It is very user friendly, love how easy the touch screen is to use. It has a very bright display screen and is completely customizable. The Marketplace, application store, is amazing, there are tons of free apps worth downloading. It downloads quickly, too. The camera takes clear, crisp pictures and has lots of features. It has loads of storage, too. Oh, and it works great to make phone calls as well.

Sony Xperia not my cup of tea.

I got my phone 6 months ago and I have to replace it already. I use multiple apps on the phone. There is NO WAY, I repeat, NO WAY to have your cell phone emails deleted when you delete them on your laptop. If you are like me and get many emails in a day, I don't have the time to delete from desktop AND my cell phone. You also can't choose multiple emails to delete at the same time. Ringtones are hard to change. Apps store is nice and lots of free downloads, but if you download too much...phone doesn't work efficiently. I'm getting a different phone today even though I have to pay for it. They want to replace my less than 6 month old phone with a refurbished phone. Go figure?!?

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a great starter android phone.

3

I am rather new to the android phone scene, but I can say that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a great starter android phone. I've had my Xperia X10 for a few months now and I absolutely LOVE it. Granted my last phone was a non-smart phone the plethora of features brought by the android OS is overwhelming. The hardware itself is not that bad. The Xperia X10 boasts a 8.1 MP camera. But while that is a big shiny number, you have to remember that it is a phone and will not take camera quality photos. They're still decent photos, but don't expect to be taking action shots with it. The large screen is very nice. It is much bigger than my friends' similar android phones. Overall its a great phone for people just getting into the smart phone and android scene. I do have a complaint though. Sony Ericsson has stated that they will not release any updates beyond Android OS 2.1. This is made worse by the fact that AT&T is holding back updates past Android OS 1.6. There are ways around these limitations but I am dissapointed by the lack of support for their first android phone. 4 stars if not for this.

Great phone

5

I got this phone for around half a year now. It is still in great condition. The screen and everything still looks brand new. I dropped it a few times too. I dont like how there is no pinch zoom on this phone but it doesn't bother me that much. The picture quality is fantastic! I love the camera on the phone. There were times that I had to take a picture twice because the camera was a little slow to take it. The phone is very easy to use and has many options. I'm in love with their mediascape. I dont like the organization as much compared to the itouch but I can still find songs easily. On the itouch i can just tap to get the play list. The phone does sometimes lag after you open it. I did have some trouble with freezing screens when the temperature is really cold. Besides for that, the phone is really good and I really love it.

Nice looks but not user friendly

1

I bought this phone that thinking this is the best looking phone in the market with sleek design and lots of feature but all this was a hog wash which I realized after buying it. This phone claims to have 8.1meg camera but the quality of the picture is mediocre and pics even with flash feels like there is no flash. Phone is very hard to customize even after having android in it. Its very hard to do even simpler things like changing ring tone. I like changing phone frequently but this will be out of my hand within few days. Except the body design there is nothing good in this phone worst android phone I ever had just hoping to get rid of it soon. Not recommended at all look for something like samsung android phone they are better then other

okay... I've had 5 sony erricsons within a period of about 2-3 months and i have had numerous problems with it.. touch screen was not responsive, android market crashed all the time, music would randomly play and music player wouldnt be active at all!, phone vibrated out of control when typing, could not use apps that i downloaded off the market, texting would go really slow sometimes, camera button jams real easy when taking off case and disables the front 3 buttons.. i thought i broke it but if you push it down in a certian way it fixes it. there are many more reasons why this phone is not good and i hope you choose another phone... samsung captivate seems like it would be better...never go sony erricson! they tried to trouble shoot my problem, which took 3 months, and i ended up losing all my contacts which made me very angry after just moving to texas...my old phone broke on the road trip and i needed a new phone. dont get this phone! stick with apple or another brand with a good reputation..i currently have a htc aria and an iphone 3g jailbroken... im pretty satisfied with these two phones

I have always loved Sony Erricson phones but the Xperia takes the cake.  I absolutely love this phone.  The picture quality is incredible and I have never had an issue with downloading.  I would recommend this phone to anyone.

The Sony Xperia X10 is decent but sometimes slow

I've used this phone for a couple weeks now and any overall satisfied with the phone. I like that the phone is an Android which allows me to download apps from the Android Marketplace. Though the marketplace is not as extensive as Apple's Appstore, there are plenty of developers working on applications that are useful to any smartphone user. Furthermore, I love the large screen on this phone. It allows watching videos or surfing the web much easier on the eyes. Though it sports a large screen, the phone is very thin so does not seem to bulky to hold. It fits in my jeans pocket very well without any large bulge. There is also a 8MP camera that will allow for very clear pictures on the phone. Pretty Cool! The phone, however, can be slow at times. I believe this is more of an Android OS problem, than a hardware problem as the specifications on the phone are pretty comparable to the smartphones in today's market. Hopefully, Google will release a new version of the Android OS to fix some of the bugs so that they can stay in better competition with Apple. **Bottom Line:** The Sony X10 is a great smartphone that will do anything you would need to do with a phone, from GPS directions to surfing the web.

Xperia X10 is an excellent android phone

This is my first all touch phone as well as my first Android powered phone. Having come from from Windows Mobile 6.5, Android is a welcome change. Android is a much smoother and user friendly mobile phone operating system. The phone can be upgraded to 2.1, which is still outdated, but adds HD recording to the already impressive 8mp camera, which I have to say is the best feature of the phone. It takes excellent pictures in well lit places and the 720p HD video is very impressive from a phone. The screen is very responsive, and the default keyboard works well. However, the factory keyboard does not work well with third party apps. For example, CoPilot would not allow input from the keyboard or it would input the same letter over and over. The simple fix to download a new keyboard from the app store worked just fine. The app store from Android is very impressive with numerous free apps. The phone is very structurally sound and durable. I got a silicone case just to prevent scratches from bumps. The only complaints I have are that it has an old version of Android, so no flash. It does NOT support multi-touch gestures, and the in ear sound is pretty low even when turned all the way up. These minor gripes are no major issues and it is still one of the better Android phones available for at&t   EDIT: 1/23/11: I just wanted to update this. Today I upgraded my phone to have multitouch support, so pinch and zoom works in most apps including the stock browser and google maps. xda-developers is a wonderful resource for all things cellphone related. Still running the old 2.1, but at least we have pinch and zoom now.

Xperia X10 the best Android phone ever!!!

5

First I have to say I am a SE fan, been using many, many SE models over the past 5 years.  Every time I try switching to another brand, say Samsung or Nokia or even Blackberry, I just end up returning to SE.  Why?  Because their menu makes sense to me and their looks are nothing short of sleek and modern.  Now onto the Xperia X10, I'm having a white one, just recently upgrade to Android 2.1.  And man is there anything better than this? (perhaps Iphone). I love the 8.1 MP camera and mediascape on this thing.  Timescape can be hit or miss, its keeping track of whats going in facebook, call log ect, but those can be seen elsewhere more efficently.  Great control in the Setting tab as well, every minor details can be turned on and off.  The only drawback I see is that the sensor doesn't regconize direction fast enough.  Sometimes I have to wait for 2-3 seconds for it to turn sideway.  Besides that, I haven't seen any disappointment. SE rocks!!!
