I bought this cell phone 6 months ago, after having purchasing a Nokia which broke after 6 months, then a Motorola which had software issues from day one (which is not uncommon with motorola's, and the company has little to no customer service aka. no liability). I had noticed this phone immediately after walking into the dealership. The specs looked good and being as I've had so many issues with other brands I figured I'd give Sony a shot. After getting it home, I fell in love. Not only is this cellphone equipped with mp3 and video playback, but an FM transmitter (which can be preset to your favorite radio stations), Music Dj which allows you to create your own ringtones, a 2MP camera (and video recorder) which has features such as Macro, Black and White, Sepia, Nightshot ect. You can also edit your photos directly on your phone with everything from artistic filters to adding devil horns and text. You can use animated graphics as backgrounds, which gives your phone a totally new look from the usual 2d images.One thing I must make abundantly clear, this phone has possibly the best battery life of any phone I have seen. It has lasted through 7 hours of mp3 playback before draining completely. Not only this, but it takes roughly 45 minutes for me to regain a full battery charge which is excellent for those of us who are constantly on the go.The memory card for this phone is a Memory Stick, which is easily available if you ever want to upgrade. I currently have a 4 gig card, which has 433 songs on it and is just over half capacity.As for ad-ons, the headset (factory included) for this phone is a Mushroom style ear-bud set which suction to your ears. They have 3 sizes of covers so you can use those appropriate to the size of your own ears and never have to battle to get your headset to stay on! The audio receiver is attached to the headset and has a button so you can answer and end calls without digging your phone out. The reciever is also the female jack for your headphones so you can use any set you want. After you have purchased any Sony Ericsson you can register your phone on their website, which gives you access to loads of **free** backgrounds ringtunes screensavers and games. All of the software you need to setup and play with your phone is included in the box, and the usb cable will charge your phone while it is hooked up to your computer.The W810i is bluetooth equipped, and can be synchronized with your other devices. You can also purchase an attachment that will transmit your music into an FM signal, so you can play the tunes from your phone over the radio in your car, home stereo ect.And lastly, but possibly most importantly this phone is the most childproofed (smash proofed) cellphone I have ever owned. It has been dropped and trown countless times, on concrete, out a car window, even in a puddle once and has yet to even scratch! It once stalled, but a simple reboot it and all was well.I would definately buy this phone again and again!

So far this is a great phone.  I wanted it for the mp3 player and walkman.  Overall I would say these both work great.  The battery life is pretty good.  The buttons have started to wear off a bit but no biggie.  I wish the volume would get louder for phone calls and it would pick up less background noise.  I like the size and the shape.  The light on the back is a pretty cool feature and it takes pretty good pics considering it is a cell phone.  2mp is pretty good for a cell phone.  Overall I think it was a good buy.  I think phones will get better as time goes on but for now it is a good phone.  This is the first phone I plan to use until it dies rather than replace it before it is broken.

I have had my phone for a month now and love it. It holds over 100 songs and the picture quality is great! The battery lasts for about two days and as much as I listen to the walkman I think it is pretty good. The only thing I would like to change is I wish the lights would stay on longer, but other than that it fits well in my hand and is easy to use.

This phone has accomodated me in so many situations. I travel a lot and rely on my cell phone for emails, calls, organizing, and maintaining meetings, etc. I am not too crazy about those "huge" pda's. This is a more compact one but it does a little bit of everything. I have dropped this phone so many times as well as being completely emersed in water and managed to not get damaged at all. I still cannot believe everything it has been through and it's as good as the day I purchased it. I would definitely reccomend this to anyone! Sony just came out with a new model. You can bet I am going to get one!!!

This is a well build cellphone with a excellent walkman build in. Cell phone qulaity is excellent with no echoes. Best feature:- shows if the persom you are calling is on a another call. Walkman:- plays songs verywell in high quality....special bass function which really helps you juice up the song you are hearing. Ear buds provided along with phone...feels good on the ear and doesn't hurt. Sony could have put in a better camera. You can send msgs thru bluetooth.

This is a great cell phone, is great as mp3 player, radio and camera.  you can add java aplications like google maps, gmail, etc.  Has some commercial messengers are already uploaded (msn, yahoo, aol).  Also works as modem for internet connection.  It is bluetooth enable.

I got the Sony W810i in 2004 and it is now 2011 and my phone still works excellent. The best thing about this phone is durability. I can't tell you how many times I have dropped this phone and it is still solid like a rock. The W810i build quality reminds me of the old Nokia's which were notoriously known for their durability. The second best thing about this phone is the camera. The PQ of images are significantly better than not only the W810i's successor, but many other more recent phones as well. Only in the last couple years have newer phones come out that exhibit slightly better PQ, however, of course now with the plethora of smartphones available, much better PQ options are available. Videos on this phone have been a blast to shoot. I can shoot videos and then upload them to my computer. The format of the videos come out into 3gp but you can download a free 3gp to avi converter and upload your videos to YouTube, facebook, etc. The W810i can also function as a very convenient mp3 player. The phone has a great speaker and the option to listen to songs through headphones via Sony's included proprietary headphone adapter. The only thing that bummed me out was that the phone only came with 3 trial games, instead of including a few full retail games. However, for a phone that has lasted me 6 years and performed as well as it has, I have absolutely no complaints. I will most likely be getting another Sony phone when the time comes.

I've had the Sony Ericsson w810i for four years and it's the best phone I've ever had. First of all, it's super durable and has survived drops in water, drops on the floor, being thrown around, and lots of other abuse. It works exactly how it has since the day I bought it. I am the only one of my friends that has never purchase an iPod, because I've been using my phone as my MP3. It's everything you can ask for in a cellphone. The camera takes excellent pictures that look even better than the ones on my digital camera. It has amazing battery life, even though I talk on the phone and listen to music almost 24/7. It's small so its very portable and can be put almost anywhere. And, my favorite thing about it is that I can talk ANYWHERE and the person I'm calling can't hear any background noise, only my voice. It's the most amazing phone I've ever used, I only wish that the design of the phone could be prettier.
