Really love my SE w760a

4

I got this phone for a few reasons: 1) I hate flip phones, 2) I didn't want to buy a seperate mp3 player, & 3) I like the option of plugging my phone into the computer for file transfer and updates. I may not be the most typical cell phone user out there because I don't text & I don't use the internet. (Both are out of my budget). I do love music though & use the Walkman features of this phone almost daily. I found a great deal on a memory card & have been able to but all of my music on that I want as well as a couple of movies for my kids to watch. The only downsides I have found is that the buttons seem  flimsy & the spot on the phone that you use to plug in the charger, headphones, & USB cable is not the best & the I often have to wiggle the cords to get it to work. My husband has the same phone & the same complaints. So I know that it's not just mine. Overall though, I would recommend this phone!

this is a very good cell phone, with a great camera quality and the size fit good in pocket , the bad thing about this phone is the memory beacuse doesnt accept sd card that is better than m2 , the video quality is good and the sounds is louded when you use the earphone you might have the volume not so loud. Anything else works perfectly , i recommended this cell phone to my friends.

When I switch providers, I also had to switch phones and the only one that caught my interest and was within my budget at the time was this phone right here.  At first, I was pulled in by the walkman features because one of the things I do most to pass my time is listen to music but I was quite disappointed to find that the music player is quite slow when I actually got the phone.  I was also a little upset over the way picture text messages work with the phone, as you have to have an internet data plan to send and receive picture text messages which I thought was just plain ridiculous.  Also if it weren't for the themes, I'd probably be screaming in anger over the interface of the phone as it looks cheap and unattractive.  But overall, since I use my MP3 player more often, this phone is pretty decent as it doesn't black out on me that often and it fits in my pocket or purse pretty snuggly.  Though when I get the money I'll probably be ungrading to something that's not in the line of Sony Ericsson walkmans.

sony erricson w760a is a great phone for starters.

The sony erricson w760a is a great phone for starers. It has a great quality of sound for music etc. However i don't like that it takes a M2 memory card,it would be much better if it took a regular micro memory card. Other than that great phone.

I really like this phone. It is a phone designed for teenagers or young adults, I say this because some of the pre loaded games and pics are of skateboarding, car racing, bowling.  Needless to say I deleted some of these things.  This phone is a walkman phone. The phone's design is nice, it has great feel to it. This phone is a slider phone. It has lots of features that you can customize with alarms and music, and calendars. I know this is common on most phones. My only issue with the design of this phone is this: the number keys, one of the keys got stuck on thread in my son's jean pocket and the key almost popped off, it is barely hanging on. ( have to get this fixed) I love to play games on this phone, your controls during your game are used by tilting the phone!  I love to listen to music on this phone too. It has these cute little speakers that you can see! I homeschool my kids and the timer on this phone sounds like an old fashioned school bell, so my kids know when an hour has passed.  The best thing about this phone has got to be the camera it has a 3.2 mega pixel cam. which good for cell phones. over all I love the look and feel and features of this phone!

Great mp3 player/phone but slow

As a phone, the Sony Ericsson W760a is pretty good.It is very sturdy and does not feel like it is going to break. It is a slider phone and opening and closing the phone is no problem- it opens very smoothly. Also, the phone is very aesthetically pleasing. The dedicated music button is awesome and the sound that comes out of the speaker is very clear and loud. It is much louder than the speaker built in the second generation iTouch that I also have. This phone has so many features and is even motion sensitive. It is almost like an iPhone really, but without the touch screen interaction and the addition of applicatoins to download. The camera is very clear for a camera phone with 3.2 megapixels. However, the only negative aspect of this phone is that when changing options or going inbetween menues and whatnot, the phone absolutly lags. Although it is the only negative part of this phone, it is a big deal. Service will just depend on what carrier you have. So if the phone did not have a slow interface, then I would have given it a full 5 stars.

This is a great and really versatile phone!

My original Sony Ericsson Walkman style phone was a piece of crap.  I couldn't hear over it, at all.  Neither could the caller hear me.  Additionally frustrating was the fact that the phone continually hung up on callers mid-call, and occassionally even shut itself off mid-call.  Very frustrating when you're on hold with someone at DirectTV!!!  It was pink and pretty...pretty, but useless.  The company replaced that phone with a newer, better made model, the Sony Ericsson W760a.  Although the new phone is a boring grey, no pretty pink or green this time...I enjoy this phone much, much more.  I have none of the problems that I had with it's predecessor.  I never lose calls, unless it's my fault... My kids absolutely love the camera, and all it's options.  I love the fact that, even if I forget my video recorder, I can still record video of my kids performances, etc. on my phone.  And the quality is good enough to post to my fb account!  Plus, I have my own little mp3 player that I carry with me everywhere I go, and believe me, that makes work much more fun!

The Sony Ericsson w760a takes great pictures.

The Sony Ericsson w760a takes great pictures. I have not found another phone that compares to the quailty of pictures. The only reason I keep the phone was for the pictures. There are a few bugs wrong with this phone that have me looking for another one. The first thing I notice was it would freeze up alot. It has the habit of just shutting off one its own. I would sometimes find that there was nothing showing up on the phone from the memory card and would have to shut it off and take out the battery and then it would read the memory card. The phone has and at&t has no idea why but it completely wiped out my whole entire memory card all the pictures, videos and ringtones. I had to get a new phone so far this one has been fine but its only been a few days. If you are thinking of getting this phone you might want to make sure that any pictures or videos are down loaded out of your memory right away just in case. I really do like the phone it is very easy to use and navigate thru. If I knew for sure that these problems wouldnt happen to some one else I would recommend it 100% with question.

Overall not reliable service

1

The  sony erricson w780a phone repeatedly has dropped calls even though the battery is fully charged and the so called "service" has plenty of bars.  Others have noticed the volume low even though it has been incresed to the highest setting.  It has also been difficult to find a M2 memory card for storage of MP3's, which is one of the only positives about the phone.  The battery also seems to lose its charge quite quickly.  AT&T has been contacted repeatedly on these issues and tell me that I live in a strong signal area even though there are dropped calls on a daily basis.  It is also difficult to find things within the software and is not very user friendly.  The design of the phone also allows unwanted access to the internet just from being in a pocket or purse.  The camera seems to work ok however I purchased a cell phone not a camera.  Overall I would not recommed this product to anyone however it is hard to determine what the real problem is, AT&T service or the sony erricson phone.

I first got the Sony Ericsson when I was in 11th grade. I had a Razr beforehand but my boyfriend decided to buy and pay for my new phone. We got a 2 year contract with AT&T and I fell in love with the phone. It is cute, stylish, easy to use and its features are very self-explanatory and useful. Its navigation is simple yet creative. I tend to be hard on phones in the sense that I drop mine a lot. As many times as I have dropped my phone, I have never damaged the screen or the interface. However, a few months ago the one button broke off from being used so much, so I am currently using the phone without the button. The one screw inside of the model came lose and made the track that the phone slides on loose, but I managed to fix it on my own. Now, every time I drop my phone, the entire phone falls apart. And what I mean is, the plastic top comes off, as well as the rubber key cover, the LCD screen unattaches from the computer chip it sits on and the battery as well as its casing. I can say that I can assemble my entire phone. And no matter how many times I drop it, or put it back together. It always works perfectly. I am proud to know that even though the entire phone splits apart, I'd rather see it in several pieces that I can re-assemble than to see a cracked screen or something of that nature.
