Sony Ericsson - W580i Cell Phone Review

I've loved this phone. I'll tell you why, then add the few cons I've encountered.

 Love:

FM Radio. This was important to me, so I can listen to music, or FM sports.

Walkman: I've loaded mp3s, wavs, wma, aac, you name it, this phone will play it.

Expandable storage: I've put a 4gb micro card in it. I don't think I'll ever use that much storage space. Make sure you get the micro version M. The regular micros won't work.

Video: Well, maybe I will use up the 4gb. I have used a freeware to convert home movies, public domain video, and YouTube videos to the Mpeg4 format. It's silly, but fun!

 Phone: Oh yeah, this is a phone. It works great too. Almost.........

CONS:

Only a few -

Battery life: If you use more features than the phone, expect to charge it every other day, if not every day. I got used to it, but I'm not crazy about it.

View Screen: Great size (320x240), but, because it stays constantly exposed (this is a slider phone, but the keyboard gets hidden, not the screen), I'm fearful it will get scratched up. Solution: I bought screen film to put on it to protect it. I thought it was too expensive, but I got it anyway.

Video: You have to tweak the settings in your conversion software to get the sound to sync properly with the video. I still haven't quite mastered this yet.

Phone sound: After about 3 months, the speaker already sounds kind of fuzzy. The music and ringtone speaker is separate and is still working fine, though I've read other reviews that warn that this speaker will wear out quickly to if you use too high a volume. So, I'm careful about that when watching video or use my headphones.

 That's about it. I'm sure there's more, but overall, I love this phone. It does everything I want it to do.
