This is the worst phone I have ever seen.  My wife bought it and it has been nothing but problems.  I believe it is software issues.  Half of the calls go to voice-mail and you get a notice two hours later and texts are two hours late despite max reception.  The battery life is terrible, two days at best.  But what does the battery life matter if you can't get your calls?  We tried new sim cards, software update, phone resets, etc. etc.  We have sent the phone in to be repaired and they sent a phone with the same exact problems.  To top it off sony refuses to stand behind their product even though it was purchased new and never worked.  They will not substitute another model even though they sold us junk.  They said "maybe we could discuss replacing with another model if it was sent in 3 or 4 times and still is having issues."  Despite this being a common compaint by many people on the net.  Now we are stuck 2 years with a phone that doesn't even work.  Not to mention the pictures you take look horrible on the screen but I found a trick for that try rotating the pictures 90 degrees and presto they look fine.  What a joke.  And sony has left their customers out to dry.  Because of this I will never buy any sony cell phone and I totally recommend against it.

No a bad phone, but missed call alerts are poor.

By

from Detroit, MI

Comments about Sony Ericsson Cell Phone:

This phone has great battery life and good sound clarity. Its phone book has ample storage. It also has programmable voice dialing that is an important safety feature, however, it does have accuracy issues so you must speak each name tag very clearly. One of the best features is the ability to program different light alerts. You can set your phone to perform different ringing light patterns just as you would assign personal ringtones. It has been very durable even after being dropped. The main failing of this phone is in its missed call alerts. Many phones will display missed call in the front panel. This on has a pathetic, fading mail message icon or text icon that blinks off and on. If you do not happen to be looking at the phone the second it blinks, you will be unaware that you have missed a call. Anyone who uses their phone for business or any important matters will tell you that this is unacceptable. This phone is missing a voice memo feature.

I feel that this phone needs to be more durable.

By

from Burlington, IA

Comments about Sony Ericsson Cell Phone:

I have had the Sony Ericsson z310a for about a year now. I have to say that I am not overly thrilled with this phone. I have had the misfortune of dropping it a couple times and it is very scratched up and actually has a chip broken out of the plastic. This phone does have a camera built in however the photo quality is awful. You can hardly make out any detail in the pictures that you take with it. The sound quality of the phone seems to be okay however it does get static from time to time. The phone does not keep charge very well at all, it always seems to be dead or dying. The sound quality may have more to do with the provider than the phone itself however. This phone does have a few good qualities. It is internet accessible although I have never investigated how to do this. Therefore I do not use it to recieve my email or check out something on the internet. The screen is clear and so it is easy to play the games that I have downloaded. Overall I would not recommend this phone.

the sony erricson Z310a is an okay phone if your 8

By

Comments about Sony Ericsson Cell Phone:

I have had this phone for quite sometime but have never really been impressed i look forward to being able to upgrade. It has worked well for your basic functions, ie making and receiving calls and sending and recieving texts. but the extra functions aren't all that great. For the camera i have never once been able to use a picture i have taken on it yet i still try all the time. ITs pointless. the games are ok and the selection is great but you have to have good eyes and small fingers to get any kind of use out of the games. I also have a problem that when i am texting i seem to hit a wrong button every now and agian that changes my profile and i am never sure what button it is or how i keep hitting it and then I have to spend a little while figuring out how to switch it back. Honestly im not even sure what it does to phone but i don't want to miss something because i screwed up.web capability sucks especially compared to what you can get now a days but has helped in a pinch for like movie reviews or times. basically i need to upgrade and really want a iphone.

nice size cell phone

By

from Saint Francisville, LA

Comments about Sony Ericsson Cell Phone:

This Sony Ericson Z310a is a nice little phone, however the face place scratches up easily. I like the size of the phone because it fits in my pocket nicely. I also like the fact that you can change the light up display to different colors when the phone rings. It's ok for browsing the internet, but just occasionaly, I wouldn't use it for that on a daily basis. The only other bad thing about the face plate is it stays hiden & unless you look at it real closely you can easily miss the display. All in all this is an average phone. I got it for free from my provider, so I can't complain.

It's cute and pink, but that's about it

By

from Hurricane, WV

Comments about Sony Ericsson Cell Phone:

Ok, I really researched my phone purchase, but I was sorely disappointed.  First, I wanted a "different" phone.  Everyone has Razrs.  I found this and it was pretty new on the market.  I understood that Sony Ericsson has great battery life and the reviews on this phone were good.  Man, I don't know who was paying those reviewers.

I got my z310a and was excited by the shocking pink color.  The first thing I did was try to get some cool ringtones.  I quickly realized that this phone does not support many ringtones, and any I got had to come from AT&T's site, which had very few to choose from.  This has gotten a bit better, but I still can't even use many of the ones AT&T sells, and none of the ones from outside vendors.

As for the "wonderful" battery life...I talk on my phone maybe 10 minutes a day and text once every 2-3 months.  I still have to charge my phone every other day, because the battery life is terrible.  My last NOkia would only have to be charged once a week.  At one point, the phone was only 7 months old and would not charge at all. I can't find a car charger that works for more than a month or two on it, this phone kills them all.

Let's put it this way, my contract is up in 2 months and I'm counting the days til I can trade this phone out.

The only good part besides the color is that it does have some different "light shows" that you can set up on the sides, but the light is really tiny.

Sony Ericsson z310a phone works but not for very long.

By

from Parkville, MD

Comments about Sony Ericsson Cell Phone:

I do like the phone, and it does serve it's purpose, however, if I were a younger person or someone who uses the text feature ( I don't text AT ALL) this phone would not work for me whatsoever. The battery life alone has me shopping for a new cell phone, and I'm a stay at home mom. When I received this phone in the mail, it came with everything I needed, phone, sim, charger and instruction manual. I charged it right away, and began using my phone regularly. I have a land line, so this phone is mainly for when we're out  of the house or for my husband to contact me from the road (he drives for a living) without running up too many minutes on the bill. The battery life is horrible. I mean if it sits on a table all day long, and doesn't ring or get any use at all, the battery is dead within 24-36 hours. Most other cell phones I've used in the past have been able to hold a charge for nearly 3 or 4 days, this battery has had trouble holding a charge for little more than one day, from day one! If you're a person who doesn't use their phone often, it would work for you, but if you're a texter, or use your phone often, this phone is not a good choice.

By

The phone has a screen on the front to show incoming calls and missed calls. If you are outside you cannot red the screen. Also, i tried to download my schools fight songs and the phone will not play the song.

Comments about Sony Ericsson Cell Phone:

After using the Sony Ericsson -z310a cell phone I can't see myself using any other cell phone. From the sleek styling to the ease of use to the light compact design. I would have to give it five stars and a thumbs up. Well by for now bmblang1924.
