GREAT SONY W-80

4

I have had this camera for a while now, it's pretty good for the price. Though I do notice that many professionals prefer to use Canon, and I noticed on my way here to review this that Canon was the top brand which is interesting. IF you are looking for cheap with good ualityt his is definitel it. I love the zoom and all the options for taking pictures. I will probably be upgrading to a better sony camera or a Canon once funds come along, but honestly nothing is wrong with this camera and I see it as a good investment, maybe not for long term but short term it will get the job done, isn't frustrating, and its eay to use the camera. SO easy my 7 year old nephew learned to take pictures on it and wont put it down. after a while it wore down and now it cuts off time to time but it may be because of the rough wear

I love this camera.  I recently used it to take pictures fo my newest great niece that was just born.  The pictures are very good.  I also took some video of my 1 year old great nephew running around in a circle and laughing.  It is so cute.  This camera is  so easy to use. I love to travel and it is small enough to take everywhere.  I'm sure I will get a lot of use out oif this camera.

BEST BUY

**This camera is the best I've ever owned (for the price).**  Pros: The pictures come out very clear and crisp.  The actual camera is small enough to drop in my purse for every event and even small enough that my husband doesn't mind putting it in his pocket.  It's very stylish looking as well (if you care about that sort of thing).  It's easy to understand all the features...Sony makes it very easy.  Uploading pictures to the computer was simple as well.  I've very happy with this purchase.   Cons: It does take a second or two too long to take the picture.  That makes it difficult for us to take pictures of our animals who won't sit still for long.  The buttons are a little small but just fine for most women.  I would think it would be too difficult for a man with large hands.

This camera is very user friendly and takes great photos!

We found a great deal on a great camera.  We considered several other brands/models, but fell in love with the sleek design and large viewscreen of the W80.  The buttons are big enough to use without hitting other buttons.  Each feature is user friendly.  It uses rechargable batteries (yeah!) and takes great photos!

Sony did it again. I just love all the Cybershot cameras

This Sony Cybershot camera is my 5th camera. As you can tell, I am a happy Sony Cybershot customer. This is a great pocket camera. And I literally put this camera in my pocket. It's thin enough that I have to be careful it doesn't fall out of my shirt pocket. This camera was not meant to replace the SLR's fast response to taking pictures. The speed of taking pictures of this camera is fast when you don't use the flash and there's plenty of light. If you take it outdoors, the response time of taking pictures is reasonable. If you want it really really fast, i suggest getting an SLR camera like the Nikon.Otherwise, as a point and click and as a pocket camera, this is a very good camera to own.Lastly, it comes in pink now which is the color that my daughter really likes.

Straight-forward to use and good for amateurs.

This was pretty easy to use right out of the box.  Power up the battery with the included charger, put it in, and start clicking away.  There are a number of pre-set photo settings, but I've found that in most situations the auto settings work just fine.  The one area where I haven't had much success is taking pictures in low light settings.  I don't know if this is because the flash is weak, I'm not using the right settings, or a mix of both.  The camera is light and fits into my pocket easily.  I would have liked a carrying case to prevent the screen from getting scratched, but it does come with a little cloth bag that I keep it in.  Getting pictures off of the camera is also as easy as click and drag.  I'm fully satisfied with this camera.

This camera takes amazing pictures for it's size.

This camera has seen many faces in my hands. I am a toddler teacher and I take upwards of 50 pictures a day. The battery life is exceptional and the clarity of the photos is phenomenal.I have beat on this camera and it still keeps on going.  It's been dropped, had sand stuck in the lens casing and sat on.  With a little cleaning it comes right back to life.  The lense quality is outstanding.  The auto adjustment of light makes pictures in different lighting very easy to take.

Don't buy - too slow

1

This is a nice little compact camera however when you try to shoot a picture the shutter is so slow your subject has usually moved by the time it takes the photo.  The pictures are pretty good as long as you put it on the largest size and the re-size later.  Once you take the photo it takes quite a few seconds for the camera to be ready for the next photo.  If you are taking a lot of candid shots this is not the camera for you.

This is my third Sony camera and they seem to get better everytime.  I wanted to get into the 1080 realm with my next camera and this was the best deal I found.  I later saw a package option with the docking station I would have went for but have no regrets.  We compared pics from our DSCP92 to this one and hands down the DSCW80 was way ahead.  On tv playback via the camera it rotated the photos into correct position, sized them best for screen and play music in slideshow mode.  My wife who was not wanting to spend the cash, changed her tune in about 1 minute.  I haven't given the video mode a very solid workout yet, but I'm sure for a "camera" it will do fine.  If you want great videos I sugguest sticking to a video camera.

Great first camera

This is my first digital camera and I am more than thrilled with the performance and quality.  I took pictures for six days and never needed to change the battery.  The charge was ample and the 2 GP memory stick I purchased gave me ample room for pictures.  Downloading was a snap and being non technical and a beginner I was glad that the process went so smoothly.  The lens is superior quality and I would suggest this camera, or any Sony product, to anyone who asked me.
