I had a Canon SureShot - the Sony far surpasses it in quality, battery life and ease of use. Even if you are a novice and don't take good pictures, this camera is a no brainer to use.  It has an anti-shake feature that keeps even the worst picture taker from ruining a picture.I highly recommend this camera.
