I Recommend This Camera But It Has a Couple of Drawbacks

4

I bought this particular camera back in 2011 as I wanted to get an upgrade over a previous model by Sony. The camera is very easy to use and is simple to load pictures from the camera into your computer. A menu is provided on the screen to help you navigate what type of picture you want. The pictures are very clear but you need to stay still to get a really good and focused picture. Even if you are at a distance from the subject of your picture, the camera has a zoom feature that brings you closer to the action. I usually get good pictures with this model except when I use the flash. If you want to make a video, it is easy to switch to video. If I have any complaints about this unit, they include two things. One, the pictures with flash do not always come out clear and you may have to switch to another format to get a clearer picture. Sometimes, I have used the flash and the subjects look darker than they appear. One other minor point is the memory card. I also have to change the memory change once in a while due to filling up its memory. Image Quality Usually, the images are good but you need to stay still as I do not think this is an action camera. Performance The camera performs well for the most part, I only have some difficulty in darker environments as the flash does not always give a clean and clear picture. Ease of Use It is easy to use and load pictures. The only real challenge is that you may have to change from flash to another format if you are in a dark location. Durability A reliable camera and I have used it for several vacations the past two years. Battery Life I usually need at least two to three hours to get a full charge necessary for my pictures. Portability It is easy to carry inside a foam case into your backpack or luggage.

Not a good camera

2

I bought this Sony W310 in December 2010 because it was a really cheap one as compared to other 12 Megapixel cameras. I didn't really have a high expectation for the camera, just hoped that it would be better than my old one (7 Megapixel) bought in 2007. But this camera disappointed me. It is very bad. The photo quality is even worse than my old camera. It is so hard to get focused under low light condition. The photos taken under low light condition are very blurry and noisy. I think the poor picture quality is largely due to the use of Sony's own lens. It makes the difference. The user interface is bad too. It is not user-friendly. After I played it for a day, I returned the camera. I was pleased that I got my money back including the shipping fees. I do not recommend this camera to others. I would spend some bucks more to get a more decent one. This camera is completely obsolete. It sucks.

Awesome point-and-shoot!

This is a great camera. It takes awesome pictures, highly affordable (for a rechargable battery camera), and has many useful features. The battery life is okay, but i'm sure it could last longer if sony tried. The only thing that I can really think of that I DONT like is the picture browsing. When you veiw your saved pictures, going back and forth is pretty slow. Another think I dont like is that the video quality is not that great. There is NOT variable zoom in video mode. Other than that, it is a great camera. Great blur reduction, great red-eye reduction, great zoom, great picture quality. This is such a good camera for everyday use. Its just so easy to use, if you see something you want a picture of, just whip it out, snap it, and you're done...easy as that. Another thing that I particulary dont like is that when you are holding the camera with the thumb and index finger on the shutter-button, the thumb slides the card door open, which is kind of impractical....Otherwise, this camera is outstanding.

Brilliant Color Quality!

For the very reasonable price, this camera is fantastic!  Picture quality is excellent and the colors are brilliant.  It's simple to use and the battery life is impressive.  It's also the perfect size, is lightweight, and the viewing screen is a nice size.

sony cybershot w310 is quality for good value

we got a sony cybershot w310 and now we take it with us everywhere to make sure we get great shots of our baby daughter.  i couldn't beleive how small they can make these now.  the sony cybershot w310 is barely bigger than a wallet and is very easy to use.  of course, you can put plenty of photos on it at a time, and the battery life is pretty good.  the screen on the sony cybershot w310 is nice and big and takes up almost all of the back of the camera.  the camera has plenty of different functions  for all sorts of lighting situations.  it is easy and quick to go to a picture just taken and adjust or delete it.  also, you can shoot short videos with pretty decent sound and picture quality.  the sony cybershot w310 is a nice solid camera with nice picture and video quality for a very decent price.  pretty much anyone can get one of these and chances are it will fit all of your picture taking purposes.

This Is a Must Get Product!

It's all about making it easier to take beautiful pictures. The DSC-W310 delivers, capturing amazingly detailed images with a 28mm equivalent wide angle 4x zoom lens. Taking and reviewing images is so simple, thanks to a 2.7"LCD  and advanced features including Easy mode, iAuto and SteadyShot image stabilizatio. There's even a fun in-camera retouching feature that corrects red-eye and trims photos.

This Sony camera is an outstanding device!

I have used this camera indoors, outdoors, with good lighting, bad lighting, and just about any situation you could use a camera for, and have not been disappointed yet. The flash is amazing and works great! I have taken it along for boating trips, family reunions, and other outdoor events, and with the flash on "auto", it knows exactly when to use that brilliant light! I have had problems with this feature before on other cameras, but not this one! The only downfall I have found this device, is the battery life, but not really anything major to complain about. If you are a camera lover, you will LOVE this camera. It is great for ANY occassion in ANY circumstances. I have been very pleased with this product, and I am sure anyone else would.

The Best Little Camera Ever!

5

I have not had much luck with digital cameras.  They mostly met there demise via recreating in water sources varying from the ocean to puddles on the kitchen counter.  My last camera met its end by way of a leaking fast food beverage cup in my car's cup holder.  Upon the death of this camera I began searching for another.  I had a sony camera in the past and was very happy with it so I started there.  I found this camera and loved it for the color (pink!)  There are many colors available.  However, the color was not to be the deciding factor.  After much research I thought that this was to be my new camera.  I have never been sorry.  It is easy to use.  The picture quality is great.  The battery lasts a long time.  The video quality is good.  And my favorite is that it is small enough to go in my pocket far away from menacing water sources that might be eyeing my camera.  All in all I would buy this camera again and again.

Great Camera, Great Price

Have had many different cameras through they years --- I teach Multimedia. We have used many different types of digital cameras in class, including other Sony cameras and Canon products. This camera is easy to use and has many useful features. The steadyshot is of course very useful when my students are working with it as is the intelligent auto mode. Some kids like to just point and click without thinking about how a shot is framed, this feature helps them see how easy it is to properly frame a shot. The face detection option is also useful when the kids are taking group shots -- makes sure that focus and exposure are equally applied to the different folks in their pictures. The battery is rechargeable, which is great for a school setting -- the last camera we used had two double A batteries that were replaced every class period, which can get expensive after a while. I charged the battery once initially and have only had to fully charge one other time --- great battery life, and even when its needs it, charging is pretty simple.

I Couldn't Ask For Better Shots!

I seem to go through cameras quickly. I either end up dropping them, or loosing them, or using them too much to the point where it needs to be replaced. I take tons of pictures so having a good camera is important. A lot of my pictures of concert pictures so I need to have a camera with a lot of settings that can capture different lights. This camera in the 6 months that I've owned it, has out-shined any other camera I've owned. It takes great pictures, and the settings are so easy to use. The zoom is wonderful. Most zooms have some "blurriness" when you look at the picture after taking it, but these pictures taken from this camera are crystal clear. Of course, this camera seems to be able to handle my wear and tear, because I've already dropped it numerous times and it works perfectly. The only thing I don't like about the camera is the battery. It is a rechargable kind, where I like to use normal batteries and just replace them as needed.
