Great video, mediocre photos

    excellent video, large image screen, very compact

    below average picture quality, battery doesn't hold charge long enough, expensive, user manual doesnt explain features well, confusing navigation

I wasn't entirely thrilled with this camera, so in a way I am glad I lost it--gives me an excuse to buy a new one, even though it was a bit of a blow to the bank account.  I'm not convinced Sony has digital camera technology down pat, but I'm no expert.  All I know is that the photos I took did not come out clear and crisp, like I thought they should have for a camera that cost nearly $400!  The video quality is better, and is seemingly unlimited (no cut off at the 2 minute mark).  It looks nice, and the built in sliding lens cover is an excellent feature, but I bought it so I could take numerous high-quality photos, so that's my main concern.  My pros and cons explain what I haven't mentioned here.  I won't replace it with the same camera, and will probably look at Canon or Olympus instead.
