This camera is great! Weather you're an amateur or intermediate photographer, This camera has many capabilities. Aut mode is great for people who like to point and shoot. I use Manual Mode to customize my photos. There is movie mode where you can take good quality video. I also like to experiment with slow shutter speeds on this camera  for some pretty cool effects. I recommend this camera to anyone.

I have owned a series of Sony Digital cameras, and this is the first one (H1) that I have purchased for my wife. What sold me was the long optical zoom lens (10x) which is great for travel and sports, although you obviously have to be careful with shake and vibration. We took this camera to Tanzania to do some volunteer work, and the shots we took were wonderful, both of the local population and during a brief safari. While its a little larger than the slim "cel phone" sized cameras, the long lens and large LCD viewfinder make up for it. Battery life also seems good, although I bought a second battery with it so that I wouldn't have to worry. We generally shoot at 5 megapixels, which is not the maximum for the camera, but it's more than most people can actually benefit from. It's also easier on the hard drive space when you upload the images to a computer (in this case, we use an iMac 17"). The long lens allows you to frame the images at the time of shooting, so there's less need to crop and throw away resolution. We do have one problem: the strobe doesn't pop-up like it should, so we have to put a fingernail under the lid and pry it free. Not sure what happened, but originally it would pop into action when needed. We have a 2GB memory card which seems to hold all of the images we need on an extended trip (assuming you cull the losers occasionally.)

I have an early version of the Sony CyberShot DSC cameras.  Mine is an H1; I believe there are at least ten versions of this camera now. My H1, which was purchased in January 2006, still takes wonderful photos.  I get great short video clips as well as wonderful stills.  I have some fantastic video footage of an active whale watch, and impressive footage of waterfalls, to name just a few of my triumphs. My husband and I travel quite a bit, and I find that the CyberShot takes excellent photos through the window of a moving tour bus.  True, there are some reflections from the window, but when I have the camera set for action (not video; just motion), the camera has a wonderful ability to "freeze" the action for just that perfect shot.  On the other hand, I believe the newer version of the CyberShot has faster shutter speeds, which would make for even more great shots as we ride along. I'm looking forward to purchasing the H50, which has a movable viewfinder and incredibly fast shutter speeds.

I have the Sony-Cybershot H1 digital camera and I love the pictures it takes, expecially the action pictures.  The pictures are clear and print out wonderful, in fact all of my pictures in my home have been taken with this camera.  The video portion is not a great as I would like it and needs to be tweeked.  But still produces good video.

This is a truly great digital camera at a great bargain price!!! Takes super fine detailed pictures even at 16 x 20 blowup size! Easy to use-all functions very simple to implement. I have never had any problems with this camera through the years. Even battery life is excellent. You'd think I was a Sony representative!!!

  This camera has a great optical zoom, I even took pictures of the moon. While at the same time it has a great macro shot, I took close up of flowers, ants and moths. Wonderful for special occasions, sports, outdoors, landscapes, family portraits,closeups and many more. The only problem I had with the camera was indoors at the school auditorium, very grainy and dark. But very worth the money. All of the photos were taken with this camera, You will not be disappointed.
