Love my SLRs, but I needed a camera I could take anywhere, use anytime and no one would really know I was taking their picture. Since it fits in the palm of my hand, I don't have to raise it to my face and can take candid photos without anyone knowing that I have "pressed the button" (I took it to the flea market this morning, and a daytime birthday party last week - the camera was inconspicuous, and I took many pics "from the hip")
Limitations? If you are a picky photographer, maybe, but I have taken some very impressive up-close-and-personal photos of flowers and insects on flowers. This little thing can focus on up to six objects at one time - amazing. Because it's small, I can maneuver the camera around to the object. I have to take a lot of photos because it's hard to see the LCD screen, or is it hard to see because my eyes are no longer young? The digital photos are easily (emphasis on that) and cheaply downloaded to my desktop, and I can freely delete not-quite-perfect photos. The battery last 5.5 hours, ( I carry extras), I can get 1500+ photos on a memory stick, it offers a variety of pre-programed options for every lighting condition I can imagine, I can take it anywhere anytime, and it takes a really good picture with just a little help from me.
I LOVE THIS CAMERA!
