I love photography, and went trough a lot of cameras, but this one is my absolute favorite. looking at it's small compact very sleek exterior, you wouldn't guess all the capacities it has. If you have Sony Cyber Shot Camera DSC-TX5 you don't even need a computer to edit your pictures. you can crop, write on pictures, adjust colors, paint, rotate, re-size, take and divide videos and all these without even transferring your pictures to the computer. At the same time, It's so easy to operate that my 5 year old daughter is able to do all of these by herself. It's very thin and sleek, you don't even need a purse to carry it, will fit even in the pocket and takes extremely sharp pictures. the only con that I can notice is that touchscreen smudge very easily, it doesn't affect it's functionality though and is kind of expected with touchscreen. I love the zoom options and all the manu options. it's even capable of creating a slide shows with the music of your choice. All around very nice camera, i would recommend anyone.

Our first test of the reliability of this camera came the 2nd time we used it: picked up from the couch, it was sent crashing onto the hardwood floor. I was certain the camera had been destroyed. Nope. not a dent, not a difference in performance. Thankfully! it's a shockproof camera and I was so grateful for that feature. If you plan on taking any pictures in bad weather or crowded venues, you will love the feature.  The second test of this camera came last week. Massive blizzard overnight had me wanting to take pictures at daybreak. One step out the door and the snow was still coming down heavily. Not a problem. the camera shot pictures beautifully despite the wet and cold weather. No freezing, no hesitation. That's a big plus. Then there's the actual picture quality. The pictures are so crisp you could reach out and touch things. And the colors are so vibrant it is breathtaking. The custom white balance and the myriad shooting menus are a big plus, because it means you can make any scene look good. This camera is a keeper!

This camera has so many things I was looking for: it is light, it is tiny, it fits into a pocket, it is waterproof and shockproof which means you can carry it around in bad weather and not worry about taking a fall or having the camera take a fall. And it packs some DSLR features into its tiny frame - impressive! As a photo enthusiast, it is nice to see that the camera offers many shooting modes as well manual white balance (a big plus for me). Is it a DSLR replacement? Absolutely not. But can you get great pictures with it without lugging around a huge camera plus interchangeable lenses and filters and a separate flash and a light meter and blah blah blah? yes! and that's an achievement. The touch screen does get very dirty/finger printy easily, so it is best to use the attached touchpen/stylus. The camera has a slide door up front - power on and slide open and the lens is exposed for shooting. power on but don't slide open the cover and the camera is not shooting mode but rather in playback mode, to playback photos and video. love it!

We were looking for a digital camera that was affordable, and compact, but still took sharp, vibrant pictures and offered several options to customize the photographs. This Sony camera does just that. We love the idea of having a top of the line DSLR that will take amazing pictures limited only by your creativity in adjusting settings and your imagination in composing shots. But, a camera is only as good as the places you take it. And while the idea of taking amazing pictures is so inspiring, when it comes down to it, lugging a big heavy camera with several lenses in everyday life becomes both cumbersome and impractical. Actually, face it, it just doesn't happen. This camera solves that problem. The lens cover is a nifty slider. no worries about dust or scratches. It is waterproof and shockproof. no worries about shooting in the rain or dropping the camera. and you can playback your shots while the lens is shut. plus there are several modes, options, settings to choose from, and manual white balance. yessss!
