Make sure you have the tv hooked up correctly for best picture quality. That would include the type of picture (quality ie Hi def/ 1080p v.s. regular cable) and also the correct cables them selves. If the picture from a dvd player or from a cable box is not giving the tv enough picture quality, you will not see an above average picture. If the cables or connections are not strong enough to handle the picture quality that may also hinder the picture. For best quality out of cables you should use HDMI cables. They are very expensive in the stores (anywhere from $60-$300) but are cheap online for the same thing. To sum it all up, make sure your putting a enough power (picture quality) into the tv and make sure you are getting it there the right way.
