Don't overlook rear projection TVs!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My old Rear projection TV had broken and I needed to replace the TV and still have it fit in an expensive entertainment center.  You hear so much about Plasma and LCD,  I didn't realize they still sold rear projection.   They can't be hung on the wall, but they aren't bulky like the old projection TVs.   Rear projection not only gives you a better buy (more inches for the buck), it allows you to fit a larger screen into an open space (such as an entertainment center) because they are more square.   I have a 50 inch in a space where I could only put a 46 inch plasma.   The picture, by the way, is excellent!

This rear-projection TV rivals the quality of LCD and plasma.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

After months of trying to play Guitar Hero on a 27" tube tv, my boyfriend and I decided it was time for an upgrade.  We spent a long time looking at LCDs, plasmas, and rear-projection DLPs.  After weighing the pros and cons of each type (plasmas had image burn danger, but beautiful colors; LCDS had slow response time in gaming, but a slim design; and rear-projection tvs have a burdensome thickness, but virtually no danger of image burn or slow response time) we decided that a rear-projection was right for our needs.  (We need gaming capabilities, and I have a tendency to leave the tv on pause for hours.)  We looked at all the rear-projections...

Beautiful picture. Get more inches per dollar!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We just bought this Sony Projection LCD. It has a great picture! It's easy to use even for us in the over 50 age bracket. Research told us that these are less likely to break, and if they do, repairs are resonable. It set up easily with our cable, vcr/dvd, and surroud sound. We also found you can get more for you money inch wise if you want a big screen. Isn't as thin as an lcd or plasma and it's not wall mountable, but we had a beautiful entertainment center we still wanted to use, so that wasn't a problem for us. It's light enough for me to slide out and dust behind on my own. The only draw back is that the remote is too big. The functions on it are also in a weird setup. We do have universal remotes from the dvd and surroud sound that are also Sony so we'll probably try using them  I'd highly recommend this TV for those who are on more of a limited budget.

LOVE THIS SONY BRAVIA 50' TV

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

LAST OCTOBER WE WERE JUST STARTING TO LOOK FOR A LARGER SCREENED TV WHEN WE CAME ACROSS THE SONY BRAVIAS THEY WERE GOING TO DISCONTINUE.  WELL WE FOUND THEY WERE CLEARING THEM OUT ACROSS ALL ELECTRIC STORES  IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS.  CIRCUIT CITY CAME UP WITH A 3-4 DAY SPECIAL OF $1248. BUT WE COULDN'T MAKE THE 120 MILE DRIVE IN TIME. WE LIVE IN THE MIDDLE OF KANSAS (THE DESOLATE PART) WHERE WALMART RULES.  SO WE WENT TO LOOK AT THE SPECIALS AT OTHER STORES CLOSER TO OUR HOME AND COULD NOT FIND ONE OF THE QUALITIES WE LIKED IN THE SONY BRAVIA.  THIS IS A DLP 50" WITH EASY PLUG IN OPTIONS.  WE WERE NOT QUITE READY FOR A LCD OR PLASMA YET AS THEY REALLY DO NOT SERVE...

The best TV purchase ever made

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I purchased this Sanyo Bravia 50" LCD HDTV in Nov07 during the Thanksgiving Sale and was sold. The TV I went to purchase was sold out and was introduced to this television by a Sears Sales Associate. The HD makes you feel like you're right in the stands at a sporting event or at the movie theatre with the family. ThisHD TV lets you take full advantage of HD sources such as Blue Ray and Game Systems. The picture quality is clear, smooth and vibarant, user friendly menu usage, and space efficent. I also purchased a Sanyo Home Theater System.. Wow... words can not explain what an experience watching TV is now! When deciding investing on a TV I would suggest looking into a Sanyo Bravia.Thank you Sears Associate and Sanyo! :)

Outstanding television

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have had this television for exactly four years now, and I'm still infatuated with it. When I bought it, it was the best value for the size I wanted. I could've spent the same amount and gotten a smaller LCD or plasma television, but I was dead set on fifty inches. And how well it's worked out! The picture is beautiful, I've had no techinical difficulties (other than a burned out projection bulb, that it is an issue you'll have with any projection television) and I'm aways happy to come home and watch it. My fiance's video games look incredible on it. It has enough HDMI/component inputs for most people, but we've got a cable box, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and computer hooked up to it, so we ran out of inputs. Seriously though, if you don't have an electrical fire waiting to happen in your basement then you'll be fine. All told, I'm thrilled with this television and if I were in the market for a new one I would buy another Sony in a heartbeat.

great sound quality

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

i love this tv alot. it is a tv that is huge and it has a very large screen. i got this tv so that i could replace the old one that was not working in my living room. it was easy for me to hook it up and start watching it within the hour. the one down side is that i cant hang it up on the wall. i really want ed one that i could mount, but this tv is still good. i love to play madden on it with my husband and kids because the it makes the graphics on the tv look really good. the sound on the tv is great and i can listen to it when i am in the kitchen making dinner. the remote is fine for me but my husband says that he wishes it were a bit smaller. we put the tv on a tv stand and it is sturdy. it does not wobble when my youngest kids are playing tag around the house against my wishes of course. it is easy to operate the remote and the cable was able to hook up to it very easily without any problems.

Amazing Quality Picture and sound!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We have had the Sonia Bravia TV for almost 5 months now, and I just love it! It works great so far and the picture quality is very superior and we could make out a vast difference compared to our old flat screen tube TV. For expample - you can see every single hair on a persons head individually! It is THAT clear. The screen is super huge 50" so, of course watching it is wonderful. The colors are vibrant and clear. If you have a Blue Ray player too, then you are in for a treat!! The remote is sleek and very easy to use. The TV itself is not too heavy but it is not light either, two poeple are needed to carry it. It is not the least bit bulky though and looks very sleek! It is an attractive addition to any modern room - unlike our old bulky tube TV - takes up no space at all against the wall! My husband did a lot of research before we bought this TV - and it is definitely the best value for the price - ALthough the price may seem steep - it is well worth it!

Beautiful, crisp, and clear picture

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We bought the Sony - BRAVIA 50" KDF-50E3000 1080p Rear-Projection LCD HDTV to replace another brand we had for 5 years that we had tons of problems with.  The Sony Bravia has never given us any problems and we are very impressed with the picture quality.  When we first bought it, we rented a HD DVD about ocean life.  I felt like I was in the ocean with the filmmakers, the picture was beautiful and very realistic.  We really enjoy watching movies on the TV and my kids love the crisp picture their cartoon have now.  I've seen problems reported with the remote, but we didn't notice any problem with ours, however, right after buying the Sony Bravia TV, we got the Logitech Harmony One Universal remote and that, along with the TV, is the best purchase we've ever made.  For you night time TV watching in your bedroom, your smaller family room, or your movie room, the Sony Bravia 50" LCD HDTV is definitely among the best!

sony bravia

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I bought this TV back in November, I almost bought the upper level SXRD model but in the end I decided to stick with the cheaper version. Oh and was I ever surprised. I of course haven't been able to compare the two TVs but I just gotta say my image is nothing short of stunning. Watching movies from an HD source, or just watching HD sports is mind blowing. I just got a Wii and hooked it up via component cables and I don't think I have ever seen Wii sports look that good. The real surprise though, something which some reviewers have complained about, is the SD image. I was prepared to grimace every time I watched something not in HD, thankfully that is not the case. I watch a lot of classic mo...

Great TV -Incredibly priced - Excellent!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This is a great TV. We looked around a lot and thought about all the limitations of plasma, lcd, projection. Although it would have been nice to get something thin to hang on the wall, this rear projection is the best of all worlds. It has a great picture especially on our PS3 with Blue-Ray (just awesome). Everbody in the room can see it (there is great viewing angles). Not worried about plasma burnout or heat or reflection from windows. The sound is good even without being hooked up to our home theater system.

The price is great too, because the rear-projection DLP's are cheaper to buy & fix (although we went with an extended warranty in case we needed to replace the lamp). We've had ours for about a year now and still love it as much as the day we brought it home. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Bravia picture

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I was in a meeting at the place of my work and standing listening to the meeting I was standing next to the bravia tvs. The first thing that I notice wast the picture, it had from what I notice crystal clear looking picture. I have never heard or even noticed this brand of tv before. The sound was great too. So I am thinking the next time my household is thinking about buying another tv I going to consider one of these for my next purchase.

I think everyone should by american not buy asian.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We would have more jobs If we could buy all american sony and all of them are at asian product and we have been brain wash to think they are better. most jobs are taken away because we buy other countries products instead of our own I know a lot of people buy because they feel it's the thing to do. Making them feel they have a good product.
