I purchased this recently to sanitize the family Sonicare brush heads daily. It seemed like a good idea in light of the flu epidemic, and I have been very satisfied with the feeling that is has given me that I am doing the best thing for my family. It kills germs on the brush heads distributing sanitizing light around the entire top of the brush. It turns on with the push of a button, turns off after a 10-minute cycle, and provides hygienic storage until the next use. It can be used on Oral-B brush heads as well as the Sonicare ones. I had long worried about the brush heads sitting on the counter exposed to the air. Through research I found that this was very unsanitary and saw the alarming statistic that the bacteria on them could double in just 20 minutes. It has covered space for all the family brush heads and really takes up little room on the counter. I asked my dentist who had recommended my buying the Sonicare brush originally. She said that she had one in her own bathroom and thought they were an excellent idea. We will be getting the flu shots as soon as they are available, but we feel that the care we are giving our toothbrushes is an added precaution.
