— What a marvelous invention! I am a BZZAgent & got to review the UV Sanitizer from Phillips Sonicare. It was delivered 11/26 by UPS. I opened it, read the instructions & then husband cut it open. Even he stated what a unique item that can save lives by cutting out any EColi, Saminella, and all bacteria that grows within 20 minutes after you use a toothbrush. In the past I used to pour leftover boiled water from the tea kettle over the brushes. This sanitizer kills up to 99% of bacteria living on your brush head. I just put my toothbrush head in there, push the button, and 10 minutes later, the UV light has killed almost all of the germs on the brush. — Excessive bacteria is not a good thing to have in your mouth. I too am a BzzAgent and received this to bzzz about. Whenever I get sick I throw my toothbrush away once I get better so I do not recontaminate. I love having this machine. I sanitize my brushhead before getting a shower in the morning, by the time I am done the brush is ready. Now with cold and flu season I feel so much better about my health because I can just sanitize my brushhead every day and not worry about it. It is simple to use and takes up very little space. Ever since I bought my Sonicare toothbrush, I have loved it because it works great on my teeth and is easily rechargable. When I heard about the UV Sanitizer it sounded amazing, so I had to check it out. I found it on sale for about $50 and I knew it was a great investment because I wanted to be germ free. I had no idea that a toothbrush could contain so many germs. This sanitizer works to not only get rid of simple germs, but also E.Coli and Salmonella. I, too, received this product for testing in a BZZ agent campaign. I love the idea of my tooth brush being germ free. I will not go into the details of how it works since other reviewers have pretty much covered all of that. However, it is easy to use, has a small footprint, is pleasant looking (i.e., doesn't look like something that would sanitize surgical instruments), keeps your toothbrush head covered between brushes and the theory behind it is believable. — I guess my only question is: does it really work? Why do we intend on making ourselves sick? Do you know how many germs live on your tooth brush? This week I recieved my Sonicare uv sanitizer. When I read how many germs live on my toothbrush I became ill to my stomach! Now only 10 minutes a day can make my toothbrush a safe tool to use. By placing your Sonicare toothbrush or your Oral B toothbrush in the sanitizing chamber and pushing the button on top of the unit you will remove 99% of the germs,mutants and e-coli that survives on your toothbrush after every use. I'm not sure if I just got a defective model or this product is just bad. I read all of the directions and followed them very clearly. It stated that it took 10 minutes for a complete cycle and then it shut off automatically. I put it in at night before I went to bed. When I took my toothbrush out the next morning, the head of it was different shaped as it had melted and where the brushes attach to the head of the brush had black on it. I recieved this product as a gift, and have really enjoyed it. not sure that i would have purchased it on my own, but love having it. it is a place to keep your brush heads that is much more sanitary than the little plastic stand that came with our sonicare elite. the little plastic holder would get moldy..and definatly not clean. keeping our brushes in the sanitizer and sanitizing them once a day is really nice, and alot cleaner. If you already own a Sonicare brush - or if you are contemplating buying one - this is a good partner product.
