Sonicare HX7990/02 UV Electric Toothbrush Sanitizer Reviews

What a marvelous invention! I am a BZZAgent & got to review the UV Sanitizer from Phillips Sonicare.  It was delivered 11/26 by UPS.  I opened it, read the instructions & then husband cut it open.  Even he stated what a unique item that can save lives by cutting out any EColi, Saminella, and all bacteria that grows within 20 minutes after you use a toothbrush.  In the past I used to pour leftover boiled water from the tea kettle over the brushes.  NO MORE!

I, too, received this product for testing in a BZZ agent campaign.  I love  the idea of my tooth brush being germ free.  I will not go into the details of how it works since other reviewers have pretty much covered all of that.  However, it is easy to use, has a small footprint, is pleasant looking (i.e., doesn't look like something that would sanitize surgical instruments), keeps your toothbrush head covered between brushes and the theory behind it is believable.

 I guess my only question is:  does it really work?  And, I don't know how I could prove that.  It is similar to using Lysol...

I'm not sure if I just got a defective model or this product is just bad.  I read all of the directions and followed them very clearly.  It stated that it took 10 minutes for a complete cycle and then it shut off automatically.  I put it in at night before I went to bed.  When I took my toothbrush out the next morning, the head of it was different shaped as it had melted and where the brushes attach to the head of the brush had black on it.  I don't know if it didn't shut off and ran all night or what.  I haven't tried it again as I don't want to waste another toothbrush.  It's not like...

I too am a BzzAgent and received this to bzzz about. Whenever I get sick I throw my toothbrush away once I get better so I do not recontaminate. I love having this machine. I sanitize my brushhead before getting a shower in the morning, by the time I am done the brush is ready. Now with cold and flu season I feel so much better about my health because I can just sanitize my brushhead every day and not worry about it. It is simple to use and takes up very little space. Overall I recommend this to everyone who has a Sonicare or Oral B toothbrush. You may not be 100% sure it really works but then...

I have been using this product for about 2 weeks now. I wasn't sure how much I'd like or use it in the begining. But I have to say it's so easy to use that I use it every morning. I don't mind doing what ever I can to help keep gems under control, and this product does make me feel like I'm finally doing something to help. I have been using the Sonicare toothbrush for years. I feel like this is a wonderful addition.

What did we do for all those years without this item???  I use it all the time and even if it doesn't work... I feel better about using my 3 month old toothbrush :)

I didn't know what to expect when I first received the sanitizer, my husband didn't think it would work (he's in marketing...).
