I, too, received this product for testing in a BZZ agent campaign. I love the idea of my tooth brush being germ free. I will not go into the details of how it works since other reviewers have pretty much covered all of that. However, it is easy to use, has a small footprint, is pleasant looking (i.e., doesn't look like something that would sanitize surgical instruments), keeps your toothbrush head covered between brushes and the theory behind it is believable.
I guess my only question is: does it really work? And, I don't know how I could prove that. It is similar to using Lysol spray to kill germs. Does that work? Who knows? I want to do everything I can to kill germs in my home, so it makes sense to use this product.
Since I already have a Sonicare toothbrush, it was a great product to try, and I will keep on using it. I trust the Phillips Sonicare product name, and therefore, I am going to believe that they have tested this product and that they would not put a product out on the market that does not do what it says it does.
There is another plus, that no one else has mentioned: Prior to using this product, I sanitized my toothbrush with hot water and hydrogen peroxide periodically, When I removed the brush head and cleaned the inside of the handle.... it was always gross. Yucky matter accumulated inside the handle from the constant wetness, I guess. Anyway, since you have to remove the brush head from the handle after each use and store it in the sanitizer....this no longer happens. Any moisture that drips off your brush head will flow into the tray in the sanitizer, which is easily removed for cleaning.
Verdict: I do like this product and I do recommend it.
